      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Mob spawning

Now that animals drop huge amounts of food, it's way too easy to live off of only animals, and no real reason to trap and breed them. I have an idea to fix that:

Instead of spawning animals at random, make them have a small chance to spawn when you generate a new chunk. Maybe a 1% chance per chunk to spawn a single cow/pig ,or a small cluster of chickens. Also remove despawning of animals. When the chunk gets unloaded, save the animals in it (may already be done by vanilla) and reload it when you come back. This way there is a finite number of animals to be found, and therefore a reason to breed them.

Unfortunately, you don't understand how minecraft works. Almost all of what you have suggested has already been implemented in vanilla. In TFC, a finite number of animals spawn per chunk. No more animals will ever spawn in that chunk. Ever. If you kill them, they're gone. (this is in vanilla too)

The reason they drop so much more meat is because it takes quite a long time to breed them.

This is not in vanilla. In vanilla, animals despawn and spawn at random. But if what I suggested is already implemented in TFC, then cool.

No, trust him. animal will not respawn, read the changelogs :P

What you're thinking of is Mo' creatures, or old minecraft, like before 1.9
