      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Please no tree entities, they are fine as blocks. I cannot imagine the horrible lag that would impose, i mean really, thousands of loaded entities... have you ever tried single play commands? as in, spawning 20,000 squid? no, because my 200 fps computer went down to 1-4 fps when i did that. Similar thing would happen, if the game had to manage that many trees. (as entities)

Similar thing would happen, if the game had to manage that many trees. (as entities)

they wouldnt have to stay loaded in chunks you aren't in, besides, that is why the game should really be run off decent server machines : :P (SMP)

if you ever use minmap mods, you see that there are in fact already an absurd number of loaded entities.

its also the fault of the java VM, within the VM programs are "threaded" but the VM itself isn't.

You and i may have rigs capable of handing it, but think of the poor guys that NEED optifine to play at all, this would break tfc for them, and why exactly should be they be changed to entities anyways? you could just make the growth scalar, something like the 1/10 thickness transitions that chisels use, and have the growth based on that squared, savvy?
