Creating a stone anvil

I've looked at the wiki, I've watched videos and I can not create a stone anvil. I made a stone hammer and have right-clicked both naturally exposed stone blocks and blocks I've dug up (both ways are suggested on the wiki, which is a bit confusing, but neither works anyway). I could not get the newest build of TFCraft to work so I'm using 52e with Minecraft 1.3.2, just so i could play this mod and everything else seems to work (so far). Does it have to be certain stone blocks??? In a certain region???? Cause I cannot figure it out. Can any one help please?

Yes, as the wiki indicates, you can only use igneous stone.

Thanks for the reply paxapuak, but how do you find it? Looking at the different stone types on the wiki, I can't tell what it looks like in the game. There has to be a better way than just clicking on any stone you see.

The small stones you pick up off the ground indicate what kind of stone is underneath the soil. You'll have to go around collecting the small stones until you come across an igneous type stone. Dig down a few blocks (usually 3-4) to get to the stone layer and that stone should be able to be used as an anvil.

That, or you can just start right-clicking every natural stone you see until one eventually turns out to be igneous. It's pretty much like clay: you're bound to find it sooner or later.
