      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Texture mapping

4 posts in this topic

How about changing the texture mapping so north/south texture would have different y flipped compared to the west/east textures,

for example bricks looks good on a flat wall

but from a corner it looks miss mapped

like the wall is made out of non uniform size bricks but small and big ones too.

so if north/south would have different y flip then west/east is would fix it, but would it harm other textures?

... I'm having a hard time understanding what you mean, quite honestly. I'm just gonna wait 'till some coder in the forum answers :

Yep it would, its the standard way that MC renders textures. You could change the tiling pattern for the actual texture if you don't want to have this half length cornerpiece effect, but then it will probably look worse when used vertically.

Also, if you somehow could flip the texture in one of the horizontal axes then you would encounter pattern tilling issues due to the placement of mortar lines inside the texture.

what he is asking for is so that textures appear to fit with each other. a brick wall looks interlocking rather then pasted on.
