      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

TFC Won't load or create worlds?

8 posts in this topic

Alright, I just installed TerraFirmaCraft on a fresh new instance on Multi-MC, and when I try to make a new world, it stays on the "converting world" screen.

My Minecraft version is 1.4.7, which I, with experience, believe works with most, if not all, 1.4.6 mods.

The mods I am using along-side TFC, if it helps finding a reason are:

Forge - version 6.6.0.518 (the latest I believe)

Player API universal 1.2 for MC1.4.7

Optifine 1.4.6 HD Ultra D2

CodeChickenCore0.7.1.0 + NotEnoughItems 1.4.5.1 (Both for 1.4.6/7)

Link to my forge log: http://pastebin.com/MEmG47nn

The problem seems to be in the [severe] lines at the bottom. (Yes I know it's bit of a huge log)

I tried it with all 1.4.6, and it does the same.

Sorry, TFC only works with Minecraft 1.4.6 and forge 6.5.0.486. PlayerAPI up to 1.4 but it has to be the version for MC 1.4.6.

Try these versions first and let us know if you have the same problem.

I have tried with the 1.4.6 version of Minecraft and forge 6.5.0.486. Sorry, I didn't mention that I tried with both. I seem to get the same problem. I am going to try once more, scrutinizing every little detail to make sure I am not messing anything up, and I shall report back with the result.

What I am using now:

Minecraft 1.4.6 - running off Multi-MC

1.4.6 Forge universal 6.5.0.486

MC 1.4.6 Player API universal 1.4

This is the order I have installed the mods (excepting CodeChickenCore and NEI) and it works with no problems for me:

Start with a fresh MC 1.4.6 .jar

minecraftforge-universal-1.4.6-6.5.0.486.zip -> minecraft.jar

MC 1.4.6 - Player API universal 1.4.zip -> minecraft.jar

Optifine -> minecraft.jar

In the META-INF folder inside minecraft.jar, remove the 'mojang' files. Leave the Forge files.

Start minecraft, test that you can create and load a vanilla world with no mods.

CodeChickenCore 0.7.1.0(adfly) -> coremods folder

NotEnoughItems 1.4.5.1(adfly) -> coremods folder

TFC B75 -> mods folder

I am not familiar with MultiMC so I can't tell you details about how to install it with MultiMC.

EDIT: Ah, typed all that up and I was ninja'd by your success. Well, have fun with TFC now that it is working for you.

Why are you guy (TFC Devs) so reluctant to upgrade to 1.4.7? I would think that staying current with the game you are modding would take precedence over adding new feature tweaks etc.

Well the reason is actually pretty simple for why tfc doesn't work on 1.4.7 and why it hasn't been updated. While doing some bugfixing

and cleanup in the update to 1.4.7 forge removed the hook that tfc uses to override vanilla worldgen and without it there really is nothing

that can be done as far as updating goes. Don't go bugging the people at forge either, the request for the hook has been made and it

should be added within the next couple weeks, until then it's 1.4.6 for everyone.

I realised what I did wrong on one of the fails, because it happened again. After I changed it all to 1.4.6 versions of mods and Minecraft, I had installed it correctly, but I had checked "Bonus chest" in the new world menu. I didn't realise at first that the bonus chest breaks TFC worldgen, and that TFC chests are different from vanilla.
