Farmland Irrigation

Ok I have been searching the forums for part of my workday... yeah I'm a Govt employee spending your tax $$$...

And I can't find anything that says how far a water source will irrigate crops in TFC, is it different from vanilla? Or still like 2 blocks?

Thought I read / heard somewhere they increased it but not sure.

And please don't lecture me about how this should have been posted under such and such a thread, I've been looking for over an hour and can't find anything regarding the length of irrigation over X number of blocks in these forums.

That's where you can use the Hoe tool water mode, it will tell you if the farmland you are looking at needs water or not

See the problem here is that I don't have water on my city plot on the server, so I need to know where I need to have it placed for maximum use of the land as I will probably have to pay someone with a bucket to place the source block(s). I should have explained that too I guess...

You don't need source water block for farmland.

Just use the wooden bucket to fill 1 block with water.

And as far as I know any bit of water hydrates for 4 blocks in all directions, just like vanilla.

Tested and agree. I even made a small pond out of bucket water, it's pretty funny how it sloshes around trying to level itself too! LOL Makes it look like actual water.
