An easier way to get sticks and saplings

I understand that this mod is all about making things more realistic and upping the difficulty level of normal vanilla minecraft, but it just seems so tedious and unnecessary to me to have to destroy all of a tree's leaves before chopping it down to get sticks and saplings. I don't think it wouldn't take away from the game if sticks and saplings still dropped when you chopped down a tree. If people have problems with that then maybe you can reduce the chance of them dropping vs. when you actually destroy each leaf yourself.

If not that, then at least implement some sort of system where you can make sticks yourself or find a way to ensure sapling drops, maybe through something agricultural related.

There already are easier ways to get sticks. You can use a hammer to get 1-3 sticks from a log and use a scythe to remove a small area of leaves at once. However, the scythe has a slightly reduced drop rate though. So there are plenty of options other than manually hitting leaves to get sticks.
