Chopping log sound/animation

Just something that bugged me while I was watching a let's play..

Chopping logs just seems like you're trying to dig away at the log..

Both the animation and the sound are just too fast.

Changing the animation might be hard but even if the sound was just changed to a slower chopping sound, it would feel more believable.

well random idea, maybe you should have to split logs in-world, like not in your inventory

so, you place said log on the ground, facing upwards

hold rightclick on the log, and you will slowly raise your axe over your head, and release over the center of the log to bring the axe down and splitting the log into two planks

You can't do that with a log IRL, no matter how good you are. Axe is suitable to make firewood, not planks.

true but you have to start some where... i could split wood into strips, and build a very dodgy deck/floor although it would be very very dodgy....if we really wanted to start to get into how planks would be cut we would have to get into saw wills or a hand saw.
