      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Non-graphics lag?

3 posts in this topic

I've posted here before, and I apologize if this specific question has already been answered. I've looked and looked and can't find solution.

The problem is that I am experiencing lag using TFC. However, it has nothing to do with the graphics. It does the exact same thing if settings are maxed or fastest.

What usually happens is it'll run at about 80 fps, then suddenyl drop down to 45, then 18, then below 10, back to 80 and so on. And this happens every second. I've tried allocating up to 5 GB of ram.(I have tried 1, 2, 4, and 5 GB). I've tried Optifine, but the game actually runs better without it.(Yes is was standard optifine). I've tried the Highest priority thing in task manager. I don't know what there is left to try. Minecraft vanilla runs 80-100 fps relatively steadily. I'm using MultiMC to launch and manage it.

I have an Intel Core i7. 6GB of RAM, and some unknown GeForce GPU(I know it can't be this, because I can run a 64x64 photorealism textures in vanilla at 80 fps)

I'm getting extremely frustrated with this. Any information or recommendations would extremely appreciated.

This is just a "me too" post. I've started an optifine thread, hoping optifine could solve this, but then I've realized it probably wouldn't. So I didn't even bothered to try to install it.

I'm thinking to debug this, but yet I don't even know how to get started. Though I could do that with the latest source since that's available on github. If this issue is  still exists in build77, otherwise this would be mute anyway, now, wouldn't it?

But, in case somebody could confirm that this hasn't been investigated, I'd be glad not wasting my time.

I've experienced it as well, pretty much exactly as described.  I wish I had logs, but I've been spending my time working on a mod lately and not playing as much.

If I recall, there's actually an error presented in the logs but no crash.  It's been a while, but I had B76 running in Eclipse and noticed the error coinciding with the freeze/lag.  I know that's not terribly useful since I'm old and cant remember the exact wording of the error... but figured I'd mention it.  Might help in duplication efforts.

If I can find time, I'll duplicate and post.
