      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Alternate scribing table recipe

In TFC right now, you need feathers to make a scribing table, and get out of the Bronze Age. The trouble is, chickens can be very hard to find. I would suggest an alternate recipe: Instead of using a feather, use a piece of sugarcane (a reed pen). Surely Steve doesn't have to have a quill to be able to write?

Just head for the nearest jungle and you'll find chickens.

But who knows how far it is to find a jungle or temperate forrest? I've already searched around half a day's worth from my home, and most I've found was mountain and ocean; these biomes seem pretty large. Regardless, I support the reed pen idea. Could balance that out by having to craft the pen from the sugarcane somehow, first.
