      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved] Can't make bronze!

7 posts in this topic

I put 3 stacks of full sized copper and 4 pieces of cassiterite into a vessel. I put this along with 3 clay molds and fired it. When it was done, the molds have cooked but nothing had happened to the metal? Help?

Time for some math!

1 full size ore = 25 units.

3*64 full size copper = 4,800 units

4 full size cassiterite = 100 units

Total units put into vessel = 4,900

100/4900 = 2% tin

4,800/4900 = 98% copper

According to http://terrafirmacraft.com/wiki/Alloy

Bronze is 88-92% Copper and 8-12% Tin.

There is a max of 16 in a stack, am I right?

Oh oops. I'm so used to thinking stack = 64. Alright, tweaking the math.

3*16 full size copper = 1,200 units

4 full size cassiterite = 100 units

Total units in vessel = 1,300

100/1,300 = 7.69%

1,200/1,300 = 92.3%

So you are still just barely out of range.

So I need more tin? Like 1 more piece?

Let's do the math!

1,200 copper units stays the same.

5 full size cassiterite = 125 units

Total units in vessel = 1325

125/1325 = 9.4% tin

So yes, one more piece.
