      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Maybe add a better scribing table interface...

like use pencils or quills made from feathers and plus it will give more uses for graphite and stuff!

knapping like? or maybe similar to how it is now but instead click where to shade the square in to create plans using the pencil or quill in a slot

good ideas? please comment and see what you think!  :D

The post is a bit confusing. What is the main idea of this.

Plans are actually going away completely in B78 and being replaced with an anvil interface. Unless a new use for the scribing table is implemented, the block will probably be removed, rendering this topic moot.

I find the plans +anvil annoying. especially as the plans seem to serve no real purpose within the game. The items that are processed on the anvil still rely on the skill of the blacksmith not on the quality of the blueprint. Its more of an Artisan production scheme than a mass production one.

@GrantBrear: Actually plans can be used to duplicate a chiseled block too (like your fence model).

Those are blueprints, not plans. Different items.

blueprints are paper and 1 marking and they're used to duplicate items you have recourse for :) Also they don't use your chisel which is good

To sort of develop this further, I'd like to see the scribing table changed to something like the research table in Thaumcraft.  Where instead of looking up plans on the wiki you have to spend resources (maybe regular experience, or preferably some new type of experience you get from working at the anvil) and maybe do some type of minigame, unlocking a selection button in the anvil interface which would allow you to craft that particular item.

I'd also like to see something similar with alloys, though that would obviously be much harder to work into the current system.
