      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

1. 1.6.2

2. Plenty, in fact all mods that have nothing to do with TFC, like most.

3. I don't know too, but I'd love it

Welcome to the Forums!

Our downloads page always states what version of MC TFC is currently compatible with, along with the version of forge you should use.

It currently reads: TFC Beta 0.77.22 For MC v1.6.2 (Built using Minecraft Forge 9.10.1.871)

So you should use the 1.6.2 version of Minecraft, paired with the 9.10.1.871 version of Forge.

As for mods and plugins, any mod that implements world generation such as ores will not be compatible with TFC, as it does not use vanilla world gen and therefore those ores, liquids, trees, etc will not spawn. Also note that TFC also removes a large amount of vanilla items by default. You cannot craft Vanilla Tools/Weapons, Furnaces, Minecart with Chests, Cake, Cocoa Beans, Cookies and vanilla other items such as cobblestone and those in the nether are impossible to obtain until you have a colored steel bucket. That list isn't comprehensive, so there may be other items that I've missed. There are other ways around this though, including changing of the TFC configuration files, and third party mods for making new crafting recipes such as customNPCs.

A quick use of our forum's search feature brings up the following threads about World Painter:

It appears that it may be possible to use, but things such as seasons, temperatures, biomes and blockIDs all have to be manipulated in order to work properly.

No, but each will have different effects.

In build 77, Seasons are determined by the time of year as well as the climate of the area (temperature and rainfall). The only major thing that biome determines is the shape of the terrain, or if its an ocean.
