Leather Armor?

I think it would be interesting opportunity to craft leather armor with the addition of metals, increasing the size of the inventory through pockets .

If you meant something like leather armor reinforced by metal parts, sure - why not.I am not sure about pockets though. I am willing to say that current inventory I wouldn't mind to stay the same way thorough the whole game - it's big, allowing multiple blocks but it is still small enough to require use of containers at some point.

Improved leather armor would be more interesting if the difference between light and heavy armors was more apparent. As far as I know, only bow draw speed is affected by armor type.As for improving the size of the inventory, perhaps the new back slot could be used for backpacks.

A pocket can only realistically hold one or two items (one and only one given the size of items in TFC), the community and the developers are more likely to go for the idea of a wearable backpack, as was mentioned by kaldskryke.
