      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

See food saturation and item durability?

14 posts in this topic

Is there a plan to eventually be able to see the effects of your skills like food saturation and item durability?  Or is it intentionally not shown.  Didn't an earlier build show food saturation?

Thanks,

Charlie

don't know about durability, but I'm 99.99999% sure that saturation on meals is the quality of it(terrible, poor, fine, etc)

the taste does in fact translate into saturation directly but I think he wants to know how much saturation he actually has and for how long.

It is intentional that numbers like these are not shown. TFC isn't a game of numbers, since many of these numbers can ruin the magic behind the mechanic and simply result in min/maxing all the way to top tiers, which isn't really fun. :(

If you really want to see durability numbers, you can install mods like NEI, which show durability on items.

The is a way to do this that is in minecraft already.

Pressing F3 + H at the same time shows advanced tooltips (thigns like item ID, durability and damage values)

Here are the rest

F3 + c = trigger manual crash (hold for min 6 secconds then release)

F3 + s = reload sound engine

F3 + t = reload texturepack

F3 + f = decrease render distance

F3 + shift + f = increase render distance (might not work on mac)

F3 + a = refresh world renderer (reload chunks)

F3 + b = toggle hitbox renderering

F3 + p = toggle pause on lost focus (like alt-tabbing to another window)

F3 + H has actually been disabled for a few cases in TFC, so it isn't completely reliable.

I can see all my tool's durability so it seems to work enough for what this fellow is looking for.

Though I'm curious which cases it was disabled for... elaborate please?

It was originally disabled for everything, however vanilla made some changes in 1.6.4 that is making it work for a few things.

I think I saw a screenshot somewhere with the F3 info showing only TFC data, temp and coords, I belevive. How can we do that?

That's actually the regular screen while in debug mode. The F3 menu while in debug mode is exactly the same. However, you don't want to be in debug mode while playing regularly, because a lot of the mechanics are changed for easy testing. For example, metals heat up a lot faster, forges are always at max temperature, players don't die from starvation, and there are a bunch of cheat commands to easily skip time forward specific amounts and generate trees and stuff.

I meant another different thing. I wanted to know how can we enable the info for only TFC data, just 2 lines at the top with that

If you meant this, it's the regular screen in debug mode. There is no way to see only this unless you have debug mode turned on.

Ohhhh, I didn't understand you at first, sorry. So no then, only in debug mode. It could be a nice feature if we can have it on normal mode though

Yeah I dont want to see anything I am not supposed to see.  Makes sense that it's all behind the scenes and you just 'feel' an improvement over time, although I've never really improved my skills enough to notice a difference yet.  I even feel a little dirty when hitting f3 to see my coordinate position.
