      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Spawn chunks

5 posts in this topic

So, im running a server for me and my friends and i have a little problem - our base is about 3-4 thousand blocks away from original spawn.

And as i know - spawn chunks are always loaded. We dont need that. So - can i move original spawn point?

I think, if your using a Bukkit server, you can get a command plugin that allows you to do that.

There's a vanilla command for changing a player's world spawn point, but I doubt that there is anything that lets you unload the original spawn chunks. It's not that huge of a deal anyways considering that very little is actually going on in that chunk. At most there might be an animal or two roaming around, and the grass and maybe some crops are growing. Hardly enough to put any sort of strain on a server.

Block lag is going to be cause by a large amount of scructuresplayers on a server, or (in case your running it on a local machine) a short comming in server resources aka the server cant keep up with the clients in terms of network traffic or processing speed (specially if your running the server and a client on the same machine).

A couple of empty chunks being loaded around the spawn point are going to have 0 impact on it, unless there is a person idle there the whole time witch will cause chunks between the players to be loaded aswell.
