      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

You need to downgrade to Java 7.

I had this problem this morning for a few hours.  I stumbled on the fix by accident after trying many different solutions.  Minecraft 1.7.10 only allows a max view distance of 16.  I had mine maxed with the new 1.8 stuff.  When I realized I couldn't even make a new vanilla 1.7.10 game without any mods I was able to narrow it down.  The pastebin log he shows is exactly what I was experiencing even with terra firma uninstalled and trying to create a vanilla game.  As soon as I cranked the view distance down I was able to finish loading into the newly created game.  I reinstalled forge and terra firma craft and it's up and I am up and running.

I had the same crash. Changing the view distance back to 16 fixed it for me.

Thank you.

It is unlikely that this crash is related to Java as for once it is always fully downward compatible, and for second: I am running with Java 1.8 without any errors.

Java 8 made a change that broke forge. That's why you can't use Java 8 to run Minecraft 1.6.4 either.

You might not be getting any errors right now, but they do still happen.

Thank you all. Changing view distance fixed the problem.

Not going do downgrade Java unless I get other problems.
