      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved] Salads

Not gonna make a bug report until I know this is a bug. When I make a salad using only sour ingredients, the result is both sour and savory. Is that supposed to happen?

Yes. Just because the food says 'Not Savory' it does not mean that it has a Savory value of 0. When you have a low cooking skill, 'Not Savory' simply means 'Less Savory than I like'.

 

So let's say you like a savory value of 20.

 

You have 4 ingredients that all have a savory value of 10. All of those ingredients say 'Not Savory' because 10 is less than 20. However, when you combine them you get a savory value of 40, which is higher than 20, and therefore says 'Savory.'

 

Please note that I'm not 100% certain on how tastes combine in meals and if they do some sort of average, but the above statement is what I believe is happening.

Ahhh, excellent! That makes a lot of sense. While we're talking about salads anyway, are the bowls supposed to vanish after I eat them? Are they tasty, or do they just break?

I was wondering about that as well, not that clay is that much of a problem at the moment. However the total cost of 4 salads is 8 logs, 8 straw, 5 clay plus the food ingredients, for 20oz salads. That's pretty expensive.
