      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Djakuta: We aren't looking for reality, if we were I wouldn't be on my computer, I'm looking for better than that. Reality is boring, adventures are exciting especially if they are understandable and believable which is what this mod aims for. This mod definitely does not target anyone under 10. There is a reason for this why would we cater to a minority and lose the majority very few 5 year olds play Minecraft and far less play it modded. With out a doubt I think that some form of bow building will be added. The current system isn't believable at all. Bioxx has been redoing things system by system I would guess this one is just low on his list. I can't wait to be able to make better bows.

I just have to laugh at you guys saying "I've made a bow before in real life" .. And then it was in a shop making a more modern bow...

I've made quite a few bush bows from live trees/branches... It doesn't take a long time just a little testing and experience helps.

Mind you I was doing this as a child so that blows a lot of smoke up the rumps of you all saying "Don't make it too complicated for the kids" .. I was trying to make bows at 6 (They might have only gotten a few yards but whatever, they were made out of easily broken off tree branches and twine)

well 1) 'you guys' was only me. So really, 'you guy'.

2) Yes. It only went a few yards. I did the same crap myself as a kid, and the reason I didn't bring it up is because it DID only go a few yards. Steve's arrows can go for hundreds of yards if you aim at the right angle, and he has a real, proper bow. A crafted, treated, properly strung, real fucking bow. And the one I made in shop was by no means modern - it had no metal components, and wasn't even made out of composite woods. The only 'modern' thing about it was that it was recurved, and that technique is still centuries old.

3) Don't laugh at people, it's not nice.

I think it's implied that Steve has tongs

the same way that you dont just mash 3 peices of stone on top of some sticks, the crafting bench has tools and stuff on it for you to use
