      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Seasons tweaks

This is not something that can be easily changed via config because of how many facets of the game are affected by it. I can't just change one variable and suddenly years are half as long, sorry.
  2. If you want to edit the wiki.

    Added.
  3. Realistic Water Handling - [Bucket & Well]

Clearly some time went into this. I saw the animation and art and decided that this deserved to be read just because I knew time had to have gone into it. There are some good discussions here on how to implement this practically but I won't address them specifically. Here are my thoughts based off of your suggestions. Rope: Rope will be making an appearance soonish so this will be required. Bucket: This was rolled out recently along with finite water, so clearly it has its use. Water Table: This is sort of tricky. I don't particularly like invisible information that the player has to have X tool in order to know. The only way that this would be acceptable to me is if I can make the water appear in the world in a way that doesn't cause trouble. My thought is perhaps to have special water blocks that permeate the water table area and will cause finite water to spawn in open areas within 5x5(example). This means that pumps(future) will hopefully have a use in mines. More importantly, this means that creating an actual well is plausible. Dig down 30 blocks into the water table and the hole very slowly fills itself to a point. These are just my preliminary thoughts on this. It's an evolutionary process so much could be changed by the time this goes live. Hint: If you want your suggestion to be read and taken seriously make your post professional looking like JDCollie's and I'm far more likely to pay attention to it when I'm skimming the suggestions thread.
  4. java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError on server.jar

I don't run linux or mac so I can't help fix with issues pertaining to that. It sounds like your zip program isn't copying all the files correctly. Most likely its not copying the TFCCore folder.
  5. Unacceptable Information/Topics/Content

RogueHydra is correct about Rule #1. Exact numbers are verboten. Percentages are however acceptable. Trying to make TFC into a numbers game goes against the entire nature of the mod but if you choose to play this way yourself, then more power to you. But please do not force everyone else to play the same way. As I stated on the wiki, once someone sees the numbers, they can't be unseen.
  6. If you want to edit the wiki.

    Added
  7. Durability

I like it. I'm quoting that for my sig.
  8. Buckets

As Michidez said, that is an apple tree. If your game is crashing when you harvest it, I can only assume that you are using the older version where that crash still happened.
  9. If you want to edit the wiki.

Added. Observable stuff in game is perfectly fine. The issue comes from people who look at the source and decide to make tables of raw data(this was done at the old wiki).
  10. If you want to edit the wiki.

Sorry it took so long, added.
  11. Prospectors' pick madness

The Pro Pick cannot lie, if it finds something, its there. It checks every single ore in its defined area and returns one of the ores that it found along with a reading that tells you a vague amount. Again, it's not possible for the Pro Pick to lie.
  12. Small request to the webmaster

Rogue is correct on this, quite often I change where I want certain tiles to be, or we add fresh art that may or may not be used yet, I always try to keep the textures updated as soon as anything changes.
  13. Magma forges

This is certainly something worth looking into for the future. The basic concept is simple, just have Lava flowing through a magma forge block. Feel free to expand upon that.
  14. Is glass too tedious?

The current glass implementation is there just so that folks have access, I plan to add proper glassworking at some point. Just bare with me.
  15. If you want to edit the wiki.

Please follow the instructions in my original post.
  16. [Solved] How do I cook cactus?

This has not yet been implemented.
  17. Are Black Steels & above worth it?

I would say that is a safe assumption.
  18. If you want to edit the wiki.

    you've been added
  19. Possible Amazing future mod combo

I left a reply on his thread, that IS very nice. with some tweaks I would use that in TFC in a heartbeat.
  20. Are Black Steels & above worth it?

I'm not going to give actual numbers but there's a ~30-40% increase in durability from Steel to Black Steel. You also need to then factor in the fact that the speed of breaking rocks also increases the higher tier that you go. Also the enchantability once I get to that point. Overall the tools are a solid increase at each tier. The question yet again comes down to, do you want to spend the time needed to make those tools to use every day. It takes a ton of ore to make the anvils etc that are required so its not cheap. For SMP, if you have a dedicated smith who loves to smith stuff then its not such an issue, esp with several miners and bloomeries running. For SSP everything is much harder.
  21. Are Black Steels & above worth it?

I wouldn't call it end-game per se. IRL there might be better metals for certain things but you wouldn't always use it because another metal is cheaper even if not quite as effective. That is ultimately how metals work in TFC. Blue and Red Steel are far and away better than everything else, it jsut comes down to how much time and energy that the smith wants to put into it.
  22. Are Black Steels & above worth it?

I do not envision anything more than Steel being used as a primary metal. They are notoriously difficult to create and would only be used by wealthy warriors etc.
  23. Scythes

I actualyl did consider renaming it to sickle, however the sprite doesn't match as it was designed to be a scythe. That said, I'll probably be adding a sickle later. For now the scythe will be fulfilling the rolls of both a scythe and a sickle.
  24. Unshaped tin does not want to form up!

Also when you're looking at the wiki, the Working Heat Level is the minimum heat required to work the metal. You want to heat it PAST that level in order to have a comfortable amount of time to shape the metal. I've updated the metals page in the wiki to hopefully be a little more easily understandable.
