ATTENTION Forum Database Breach 03/04/2019
There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again. -

I'd rather train at orbital mechanics some more for when I'll be harvesting asteroids to feed my nanofabbers.

With the latest update, all too often I'd dig up some immediate-surface ore, only to see much of it destroyed by silly dirt block toppling into holes. You can't even mine an ore block with dirt directly on top of it without destroying all the ore immediately below it. It makes no sense that falling dirt or gravel or sand destroys ore.

My first day shelter usually is a 2-deep cliff in square shape. It's very easy to make on any flat surface of dirt: dig a 1 deep trench in an at least 5x5 square (advise larger so you can spend your night baking ceramics), then rise the ground in the middle square by 1 - you might need to put down a log in corner briefly so the dirt won't slide off into the trench. Monsters cannot pass this, but you can easily jump through. If spiders are a problem you can also dig a 1 deep hole in the center and corner it with logs. Impervious.
