      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. plant genetics = allsume

I know that... I might be in (drenched) Florida right now, but I lived in (nowhere near as drenched) New Mexico for several years, and then San Francisco for the other 7 years of my life. Not telling you the order of Frisco and New Mexico. I like being minimally mysterious.
  2. plant genetics = allsume

Ever seen a Saguaro cactus's root system? it's something like ten times the size of the cactus itself.
  3. Metal blocks

I know a little bit about casting metals, specifically sand casting(which sand you use is quite important, from a real-life perspective. However, for the sake of gameplay....). I put up a system in this thread for casting metal blocks, and a bunch of other stuff: http://terrafirmacraft.com/f/topic/1974-metalworking-improvementsadditions-and-some-cooking-on-the-side/
  4. Metal blocks

Uh... Ingot piles, or you can throw it in the bloomery to melt it back down, perhaps?
  5. plant genetics = allsume

If the traits stay simple and observable, I am all for this. (E.X. Large or small ears (corn), low or high yield (3 grains instead of 2))
  6. Metal blocks

Let's face it. If you make a house out of black steel, you have too much Iron anyhow.
  7. Does clay only appear in certain biomes?

I think (correct me if I'm wrong) biome determines what trees are present, and what other flora and fauna are present.
  8. Red steel!

Something I've been wondering: Are red and blue steel equal in duarability and mining speed/damage?
  9. Quality of Foods / GMO/ Organic etc.

Funny. I'm one of those people who can stand everything. Except beets, artichoke hearts, and nuts. I love the taste of meat, the delight of a marvelously greasy pizza, and the hard crunch of a rare steak. Beets and artichoke hearts have a very strong taste to them, and I'm allergic to nuts.

    Complete engine rewrite?
  11. Hidden Fun Stuff

Why do you need the gunpowder? Lemon oil's flashpoint is 60 C
  12. Hidden Fun Stuff

    Veeeeeeechs!
  13. Hidden Fun Stuff

Don't worry, I'm unlikely to ask for anything like that. Unless you guys decide to re-implement gem "Ores", in which case I want star rubies in the middle of clusters of rubies, and things like that.

  15. Hidden Fun Stuff

Well, the point of an update is to add new mechanics, new mobs, new items. Perhaps it could be a boss which you had to fight a running battle with, able to fit through any hole, and tunnel through anything, making it possible to hit with TNT by causing it to tunnel through that, activating the TNT. Seeing it is a player-created mob, why can't it requrie significant area preparation to defeat? Or perhaps it's a territorial boss, which will fight anything in it's territory. Or perhaps a PVP-oriented boss, which is friendly to the one who builds it. It's nice for vanilla, I admit, but It really would not fit in a TFCraft world. EDIT: Spellings fixed. Note to self. Spell check.
  16. Hidden Fun Stuff

Is it possible to force structures to spawn inside ore veins? Such as the conditions for Rare Gems (Ex: Star rubies) in DF, where it must spawn inside a cluster of rubies. And I have an idea for the contents of the chest: Holy Grail (Troll item. Can be placed in the world), random metal tools & weapons (Not suggesting red steel/blue steel, here. Just token items, like a bronze sword, a iron pick, and a copper shovel, to get an idea of what I'm suggesting)
  17. Hidden Fun Stuff

Besides being the easiest "Boss" ever to kill, it's also ridiculously OP if you don't trap it in blast-resistant blocks. Thank you so much for not bringing it in!
  18. Javelins

Balkon's weaponmod? You can throw the spears, and there's a wide variety of other weapons available (Including cannons!)
  19. New gamemechanic instead of the almighty WORKBENCH

Many of us like the idea, but have nothing to add. So don't worry! It just means that we like your idea, and can't think of any way to improve on it.
  20. Also, it's enough of a pain to get stone that if you manage to build a stone casing for your house, you should be rewarded with security. Real stone (Smooth/raw), not cobble or bricks. Those can be(Eventually) disassembled.
  21. Hidden Fun Stuff

Well, the reason I gave detailed instructions is because they're part of the joke. Except maybe the reward. That was probably just me overdoing it. Sorry.
  22. My problem with creepers is simple: They blow up when I am way outside their blast radius, they do way too much damage when they DO blow up, and they are extremely annoying to kill, without benefit of a proper weapon. Knives don't count. An axe does more damage than an equivalent knife, but is (At low metal tiers) eaten in the process. And yes, I know the creeper is the icon of Minecraft. I just don't see why it is the icon of TFC. I see them as two completely different games.
  23. Uses for Ores? Gems?

TFC uses Forge's Ore Dictionary, right? So IC2 should recognize TFC copper/tin/bronze ingots as copper, tin, and bronze. Probably only the fully cooled ones you can stack, which haven't been worked(In other words, ones w/out metadata), but still, if I really want IC2 in my TFC world (Dunno why I would, but for the sake of argument...), then I can have it. It would take an amazing amount of work, but still. You CAN have IC2 in TFC. You just need to spend forever working on it.
  24. Hidden Fun Stuff

Alright.... The Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog. It can only be killed with the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, which is available from a enormous train of priests which spawns after your/a player's(SMP) first death to it, at the site of it's cave. (Or someone's first death). Highly territorial, it does not stray from it's cave, and will ignore you as long as you stay out of it's territory. One per world, no reward for killing it except you can now enter it's cave and check for ores in the cave wall. The cave is rather expansive, and is guaranteed to include minimum 1 ore vein/cluster, plus normally spawned ore veins. Why add this? Because I think it adds an element of humour to the game, and something to brag about destroying. In addition, this mob would be something which would start competition in servers over who gets to kill it, which could ultimately be for nothing of significance, or end up granting access to a massive ore vein for whoever kills it. This makes it something to be sought after in faction servers and non-faction servers alike, for finding it, for very little cost, gives the faction which finds it an advantage. Or just gives no one any advantage. If you feel this has too much effect on gameplay, then remove the reward outside "I killed the Killer Rabbit" bragging rights, and natural ore veins.

All I know about modding is that the complexity of implementation goes something like this(Least complex to most complex, and feel free to correct me): New Crafting recipe, no new items New item New block New single-block tile entity New entity New multi-block structure tile entity On the subject of the Ender Dragon, it feels kind of.... gimmicky, with the whole "Destroys all blocks it passes through" deal. At least, that's how I find it.
