ATTENTION Forum Database Breach 03/04/2019
There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again. -
This forum is now READ ONLY! 01/20/2020
As of this post and forever into the future this forum has been put into READ ONLY MODE. There will be no new posts! A replacement is coming SoonTM . If you wish to stay up-to-date on whats going on or post your content. Please use the Discord or Sub-Reddit until the new forums are running.
Any questions or comments can be directed to Claycorp on either platform.

Oh Yeah. Good Point! Someone help get us back on topic! And I think that was arctaran(or however you spell it) or maybe srg.
And congrats. You are a very good contributor. (most of the time).
Maybe there could also be a thing where you use a stone(igneous exturisve) to sharpen, and then sandpaper maybe for metal.

And sang*
Singed would imply like "I singed my hair"
Singed:
- Burn (something) superficially or lightly
- - the fire had singed his eyebrows
- - a smell of singed feathers
- Be burned in this way
- - the heat was so intense I could feel the hairs on my hands singe
- Burn the bristles or down off (the carcass of a pig or fowl) to prepare it for cooking
sing
And I THINK you know what sing means
1 - Burn (something) superficially or lightly

I think there is, seeing as there even is a difference in the 0 tier -Different stones give different stone tool heads, with different durability. That's why you sometimes can't stack tool heads but sometimes you can.-. But, unless someone actually wasted all the necesary time to test how much durability each different metal/alloy has, we aren't likely to ever know the answer. Unless you look at the code. But yeah, i wouldn't like anyone to show me their exact durabilities anyways :
Ya, I didn't want to know it either. That would TOTALLY ruin the fun of it. I just wanted to know if there was a difference. Thanks!

GAHHH Double Post! Just Edit your post next time.
And also back to OP.
Is there actually a difference in durability/strength between different alloys of the same tier(in game, not IRL), or it that rather not revealed?

Elephant?I posted an image on the irc the other day, but i guess i never posted it here, so here you guys go:

A stone could be a basic thing, and metal more advanced. But what is the point in this? Are you suggesting sharpening would restore durability? Or what? Cause I don't get it.

what if that was changed? it is a volcanic glass, why not make it spawn along with basalt. Particularly, like it was a distinct separate surface rock.
Ya that would work; both basalt and obsidian are cooled lava. Obsidian just cooled much faster.

The carbon nanotubes explain how it was such a high quality blade. The smiths certainly didn't know they were creating carbon nanotubes, let alone that they were! Just another reason why these blades were incredible! Heck, we have a hard time creating and manipulating carbon nanotubes today! One of the toughest materials known to mankind...
Oh. Well that's amazing then!

Can't you just REALLY simply make one yourself by erasing everything except for ores or whatever it is you want to find?

...how is gender a 'trait' in this sense?
You can't breed to eventually get a higher selection of a certain gender. It's 50/50 in all cases.
I didn't mean a "trait" as in something you can breed for, I meant a trait as in the actual characteristics of the specific animal. (on a side note, I should have probably included species.) I guess you could also look at it that way (the way you did). But yeah.
I guess you could also call them variables.
In my list, all of those traits could be bred for except for gender.

No actually, I wasn't. Sandpaper is actually used to sand metal all the time. Not regular sandpaper, but emery or diamond sandpaper. Sandpaper isn't just for wood.
