      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Although I think the first garments were made from animal hides.

    Rant earlyClothesRant = new Rant(boolean annoying = true);

The first clothes were typically made from what was to hand, and varied depending on the season. For example, in the summer if one lived in a forest, it would be easier to collect bark from trees such as Willow; compared to tracking, killing and butchering an animal. These clothes would be easily replaceable, so it wouldn't matter as much if they got ripped. However, when the weather got colder, thicker clothes such as hides would be used, and later stored over the summer months (as not to have them damaged).

EarlyClothesRant = null; // End rant

  2. I'm inclined to disagree with this statement. I believe a large proportion of the TFC community (including several prominent members) think that TFC is not punishing enough; this is shown through the numerous topics regarding TFC's in-game mechanics e.g. 'not dying from starvation/dehydration'.

  3. The main reason for such high taxes, is because Europe has very little oil. In fact the only 'real' reserve we have is in the North Sea. However, in comparison to countries like Saudi Arabia and US, we have very little oil left (~5bill barrels, as opposed to thousands of billions, and hundreds of billions). This means that we import the majority of our boil from abroad.

P.S. the petroleum prices in the UK are at a 30 year low. Before Christmas, the average price per litre was roughly £1.60, or $240, or 2.14€!

  4. A suggestion, why don't you implement paints?  A TFC dye mixed with a blinding agent(in a barrel), something like an 'egg', would create a paint; to apply this(to Alabaster) a tool like a brush would be used. Later on, existing chiseling code could be utilized to paint 'cubits' of blocks, rather than painting the entire thing.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      I would be happy to help you code this.(If needed) ;)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paint%C2'>

  5. Und wie würde diese über die Webseite bereit Mehrheit der nicht-deutschsprachige Anwender profitieren? (Bitte entschuldigen Sie mein Deutsch, ich bin ein wenig rostig)

  6. Had absolutely no idea where to put this.

I have been messing around with the config file 'TFCOptions.cfg', and have changed the line

'  # Should forges generate smoke blocks? *Caution Unsupported*

        B:generateSmoke=False'

to true. The result is interesting. A huge plume of smoke is generated when the forge is lit. Furthermore, if the player walks into the gas, it damages the player substantially.

Is this a prototype for a future gas? If so are underground gas pockets going to be implemented?

  7. Excuse the title (I couldn't think of anything creative).

A small suggestion for the next bug fix (if there is one), is to implement a statement into the config. The statement would allow the player to die from thirst/ hunger, if set to true. This would make the game more 'believable', whilst not affecting the gameplay.

Apologies if this has been mentioned before.
