      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Minecraft crashes after loading world.

    Looking at the chrashlog... it's very obvious, that MCpatcher is the Problem. Wreck that thing - it causes issues very often - especially with Forge & forge-based Mods! Take Optifine for enhanced graphics & tuning -> it's better in that category than MCpatcher! Take MultiMC as alternate Launcher and Modloader -> it's better in that category than MCpatcher!
  2. TerraFirmaCraft Ruined Minecraft for me.....

    Playing MC/TFC here on a nearly fiv-year-old Notebook - not even a gaming configuration. SSP is also for me not playable - but playing on a server means around 35 FPS what's more than enough. You know, there are also 'Mods' like FPS++ (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1350464-146fishtacos-mods-fps-lava-decay-fog-key-and-more/) that can give you 5-10 frames more, if your processor is the bottleneck of your system?

  4. problem with multiplayer on build 75 for MC 1.4.6

    Issue was reported many times before - also in the use with other mods! It has something to do with a new Forge-Feature and appears when Forge was installed wrong or by using a wrong version of it. Be sure to download Forge build .486 for TFC - Check, if it is the UNIVERSIAL and not the Source-Version! Get a clean minecraft.jar and install it again. Then player API for 1.4.6. Most reported issues has been solved this way.

    Crashlog or it didn't happen... Please people - If you want help, you must also show some initiative. We don't own crystal balls and also throwing chickenbones to the ground don't help us solving your issues! (yeah, that was meant as a very bad minecraft-mod-insider-joke)

    If I'm right, the developers themselves won't port their mod - especially at this point of development. (Craft)bukkit-Ports are done by other people most the time, after they get the permissions. BUT, because Bioxx only allow 'modification' around TFC as long as it don't use/change the TCF-Code, it don't think that there will be a port until TFC comes out of beta...

    In german - people tend to say something to their kids, if they try to use these 'special' argument for doing something that was not allowed. "But XY did this too!" The answer in the most of cases is then; "If XY is jumping out of the window, will you jump too?" Oh yeah - high philosophy... I understand that this thread was opened 'cause someone wanted to be funny. But how does it come, that I'm not laughing? Yes, Bioxx said this - and maybe also that - but this board is called 'suggestions' and we all know, that different people has a different flavor. The one like a populated world in their games - other not - Bioxx decided what HE want in his mod, so that's his rule. But this is still a board for suggestions and there is only ONE thing you can hold those people against; the fact, that they haven't used the search function before posting. But to stay fair; who of us REALLY doing this all the time? So, trust me - my sense of humor is very distinct as far as dark. But I definitely see NO reason for mocking people only because they say what they would prefer. That's what this board was made for. So if they're asking for things that was discussed and maybe refused before - tell them what's the fact and teach them to use the search-function instead of open fake-threads in the wrong section - especially, when it's absolutely clear, that they will end in harassment and fight!

    And exactly THIS is the point - this shows up, that most of us don't know much about evolution and what science has found in the last years. Evolution is nothing that you only can see when watching it for decades - evolution is something that is constantly happen to all organisms on the planet. Now, that we know for what we have to look, science can SEE evolution every single day. Evolution isn't a 'Theory' - evolution is a simple fact, how life on earth is working. And please forget about combining 'evolution' with 'how life originated' - both things have it's parallels but evolution can't describe the origin of LIFE, it only describes the origin of SPECIES! I know, the imagination mankind has of evolution is a very 2dimensional one - but if you deal with new breakthroughs in science (ridiculous to call it so, when they are decades old) you will UNDERSTAND, that there is much more - much more, than we have understand so far. But research is going on and every day we understand more... well... not 'we' are the one, they'll understand... Cause we still hear from the genes, that ONLY affects how a creature is formed. I even can't remember that I have ever heard from 'epigenetics' somewhere else but scientific literature! But that are things scientists knew since more than 50 years. No, that's not the right point of view. Science works different. You almost certainly CAN'T invent a steam engine for example, if you don't knew about force transmission. Sure, you COULD - but you won't deal with it, cause you don't know what to do with that thing. Science always needs straight evolution. Today it's easy - cause you can consult other 'scientist' if you need to know about things correlate with your research. Long time ago, this wasn't a possibility - so there probably often were people 'inventing' something but don't finished their work, cause the don't find a way to use it. Sure there were others, that had a usage - but they simply lived elsewhere and both inventors never heard about each other. History (the nearer one over the last 300-400 years) of science is FULL of exactly this storys. There - for example - were a couple of scientist that lived besides C. Darwin that could have told him, that he wasn't exactly right with his 'Origin of Species' - but they never knew from each other, so he had do figure it out alone - a thing that took him quite his whole life... Today we're knowing about this unhappy coincidences - but then... -.-

    'Science' won't do this since more than 50 years! Media is doing this - but please don't ask for the reasons... Science instead teaches us from 'some sort of mice-like mammal' turning into men. The thing with ancient battery cells is this sort of an 'easy to believe' story. It pretends, that mankind is smarter than it's always stated - so we WANT to believe in it. But look closer at it - try to keep feelings away. Electrical voltage show up in many things. Some archaeologists find jars with something that offers electricity - jars that are filled with something that probably was meant as stored food - and infer, that this stuff was used for making energy instead of being the obvious; stored food! If there were a way to USE the stored energy for the ancients - and they will find an evidence for this - that's another story. But WHY should someone have invent & KEPT batteries, while having no device to use it for?

    Another possibility: 1 Log = 3(8) planks Give the existing behavior of TFC-Planks with its 1x2x16 pixel appearance to the sticks and maybe tweak them to 1*2*8. (1*1*16 / 1*1*8 / or something else and also make them only to be a texture without hitbox). Give the TFC-Planks a new 1*4*16 (2*4*16) appearance, so that you can use it as building material with reduced blockhardness compared to the vanilla plank-blocks. that would maybe not be right in a mathematically way - but it would work quite well gameplay based.

    Why not simply edit the texture-file? Had done this long time ago, when first playing modded MC with Red Power. Giving a standard-stone-texture to the gems the mod add make them less overpowered and gives the player the surprisingly feeling of finding a treasure when mine through stone that drops that shiny things.

    Of course it is - you would have to cover your ore with the coals in the forge - and unfortunately that's not the way you get your carbon into this iron ore for making it steel...

  24. Make (your) custom Items in TFC!

    Of course, you can make your totally new & own Item with this mod, give it your own texture - nearly all you can do while making a 'real mod' - or at least the basic stuff. Only things that could cause problems is if it conflicts TFC - when adding your own stuff to world-gen for example. But if the Items you want yet exists in a mod that not work with TFC cause they need vanilla resources that TFC patches out, it would be easier for you to use this mods and simply only make new recipes for these items that contains TFC-resources. What you'll get then is exact the item these mods add - so it will be fully functionally - but be aware if you want to add weapons or something; since bioxx has changed the whole damage-system your weapons could be nearly useless.

    Someday - I swear - I will learn too sleep BEFORE I write something - not the other way round... It should work if at least the server have the mod itself installed. I don't tried it yet, but I think only issue will be, that you still see the recipe in NEI - but as long as the server don't contain the recipe, you'll end up with no result. For the second question see below... Oh yeah - that's what I ever wanted! I'm only speaking for adding new recipes for existing items (vanilla/TFC/other mods), cause this is all I need for myself. All you have to do for is: 1. Install the Mod which Item you want to craft with TFC-Ressources & Custom Stuff 2 like every other mod. 2. In /.minecraft/configs/Custom Stuff/Mods/ make a folder for your new mod and create at least a file called 'mod.js' 3. Edit it with a texteditor and put the following line in it: [Ammount] is how much of the Item you get from one recipe, X & Y define the crafting-grid: set both to 3 for a 3x3 crafting grid - leave it free for shapeless recipes. The IDs represent the crafting-grid from the top left to the bottom right. Adding a recipe for this Lantern I have from another mod simply changes the need for vanilla-iron to tin ingots from TFC by adding this 'code': ID 16303 is the ID for TFC Tin Ingots, 20 is vanilla Glas and 50 a simple torch. (Of course it's only a test recipe)
