      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

    Lead is used for soldering and weighting things mainly these days since we've removed most toxic uses of it. And while Bioxx has expressed disinterest in modern tech for TFC, Dunk has stated he plans to add things past where Bioxx leaves off, even if it's done via expansion mods -- which seems to be the preferred way of extending past the early ages, as I understand it. There's a lot of things in TFC that are non-functional, and may stay that way, but that leaves them open for extension mods to use.

  2. ( Request ) Texture pack that makes TFC less laggy?

    The default texture pack is already only 16x16. The only way for a new texture pack to make it less laggy would be to create an even lower resolution one, and you won't get much benefit out of that. The problem isn't the size of the textures, it's the sheer volume of textures combined with MC's bad rendering optimization. MC 1.6 fixes some of those issues, and eventually TFC will be updated to MC 1.6 as well. So you'll either have to hold out till then, or go back to an older version of TFC from before Mojang screwed up rendering (1.4.7 I think works).

    Agreed, alternately you may also be trying to allocate more RAM to the VM than your system has available (for instance, 4gb RAM doesn't mean you have 4gb available if you have 3gb worth of processes going).
