      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

    Crococraft server
     
    Welcome! JuPhi and I (EnTro) have been playing TFC for some time now and we’d like to start-up a server with other people. We want to create a server with a nice, friendly and inspiring community. We look for all type of players: from explorers to castle builders, from traders to miners, packrats to hermits and farmers to knights.

     

    We use mytown to allow you to create towns and nations. The trade booth mod allows you to setup a booth that will allow 24/7 trade, even when you are offline. Also we have a few custom recipes that allow you to make pistons and redstone lamps!
     
    About:
     
    Teams and claiming territory
    Anybody is allowed to form a group or team to play together. We now have the MyTown plugin running that allows you to create villages and nations.
     
    Server map
    We have an interactive server map (not Dynmap, this is much better :P).
     
    PvP, destroying and stealing
    PvP is turned on and allowed on the condition that both individuals (or teams) agree on the terms beforehand. Destroying stuff or stealing ones property is not allowed (unless agreed in a PvP situation).
     
    General rules
    Stay within the pregenerated map boundaries. Do not leave the terrain in an ugly state (e.g. cut all jungle/sequoia trees). Swearing/cursing is not allowed. Respect all other players. And of course: Wheaton's Law.
    In case of (rule) disputes, contact me.
     
    Mods
    This is mainly a vanilla TFC server with a few minor extensions. In addition we have implemented a few custom recipes and Aeroc's awesome trade booth mod and Mytown. We have a page with installation instructions.Don't worry, setting it all up is easy as pie! There is even a modpack to make it even simpler.

    The bessemer process would be a nice late-game addition and it would take away the need for some frantic hammering/resmelting sessions, using up a lot of charcoal (which is quite a chore to produce in quantities). But it should be only possible to make it once you already made steel the old way, so maybe using red/blue steel?

    Okay, that makes sense :) I missed that part on the wiki. Personally I'd have it work immediately when clicked: let them burn their fingers and they will learn. Like with knapping, smithing etc,,,

     

    I hope Bioxx, Dunk and the rest will fix the crash. I believe I even crashed while opening a door with a blueprint in my hand.

    Pouring ice from wooden buckets

    This one occurs when I empty a (wood)bucket of water into a 1x1 hole in the ground. After a split second the water turns into an ice block, which after breaking yields a water source block (no more need for red steel buckets! :P). The season was winter, but the temperature is still 25 degrees C. It doesn't always work and seems to be season related, but I didn't test it that thoroughly.

    The information that is supposed to be displayed using the info modes of a metal shovel do not display in hotfix 19. This occurs for nutrient, water and harvest modes. It might be related to Optifine, but that was not a problem before. I upgraded LWJGL to 2.9.0 so I thought it was the cause, but downgrading does not solve the problem.

    I tried to replicate the duplication :P. It creates a ghost dupe only when the ingot has a temperature indication. The ghost dupe dissappears when you click on it, or by itself.

     

    Once I've seen a ingot dupe while mass smelting a double chest of cassiterite (288 ores) yielded about 140 tin ingots (should give about 72). Shift clicking from the anvil then gave a few times 32 ingots instead of 1 :lol:. That was in SMP. Haven't seen it since.

    I have had problems using the blueprints of pre-chiseled blocks in B76 H18 & 19 (haven't run older versions). Error report is included in the spoiler below.

     

    Steps to replicate the crash:

     

    0. Hammer and chisel in hotbar

    1. Create a chiseled block wood or stone

    2. Create blueprint of the chiseled block

    3. Try to apply blueprint to different chiselable (?) block

    4. Crash...

     

    It occurs both in SSP and SMP. For SMP I run a server on the same PC as my client and use hamachi. Only the client evaporates and the server is not influenced by the client crash.

    I especially like pipes and glass-in-lead/ lead glass. (Colored glass might provide a use to many unused minerals/ores). Those are some good applications for lead. But how is lead used in food preservation and candles?

     

    I think the problem with lead is that the uses of lead take up too specific niches in the technology chain to be implemented in the current TFC state.

    An alternative solution to counter that cheat-y workaround is to have the action of turning a block into a chisseled block trigger cave-ins if it's not properly supported by other blocks. There are many reasons to chisel downside blocks.

    Hey everyone!

     

    I have been playing Terrafirmacraft together with my gf for several weeks now, and it has been a great experience! The depth of gameplay it adds to the minecraft experience is great, and many mechanics are worked out very nicely! What I like most is that all the TFC mechanics encourage you to work together and play together on a server and build like a small pre-historic community with shared garden, smith and leatherworking house. Plus I can't forget mentioning the many (many!) types of trees and stone, seasons, food and metals, which just give it a very diverse feeling.

     

    The mod is very cooperative in nature. Finding ore (especially a specific type) and smelting takes quite a long time, but when you finally find a decent vein, you get metal for years. Meaning you can share your copper with your friend, while (s)he provides the much needed tin for some bronze. Much like the ancient civilizations did. This and the intriguing complex + (almost) realistic mechanics make it such a great game to play on a server with friends.

     

    In conclusion, Terrafirmacraft is a great mod and I'd like to compliment/high five everyone involved in the development of Terrafirmacraft with the great work and efford put into it! I take my hat off to that. Hope you'll stay interested and keep having fun with the development of TFC.
