      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. So, while going thorough the minecraft subreddit, I saw someone post something called 'The ranger challenge' And being a ranger's apprentice fan, I went in. The general gist of it was that it was a challenge where you where supposed toneverkill mobs. Well, not directly anyways. Instead, you had to tame mobs and have them do the fighting for you. I liked the idea, but it was deleted for whatever reason, so... Yeah, I tried expanding on it. Here are the rules I came up with. You cannot directly damage mobs. You cannot hit them, shoot them, fire magic at them, throw potions, or hurt them 'intentionally'. Basically, you cannotengagein combat with mobs But other then that, anything goes. this means you can set traps, dump lava on them, drop tnt on them, set them on fire, or push them off cliffs. You can also hit mobs to make your pets attack, but you cannot do it with a weapon(and no axes or shovels either), and you cannot repeatedly hit them. Try to deal less than 4 points(2 hearts) of damage. Animals such as cows, pigs, etc can be killed by you. It's just the ones that fight back that you can't fight. Pretty simple, right? I was thinking that some mods might be used for this. Namely, A damage indicator-type mod, to make sure you do not deal too much damage. Mods that get you fighters/pets without being too OP. Possible wolf-enhancing mods.
  2. What have you played while you waited for b79?

Spider queen reborn the mod. And a lot of other mods. And a few games on my 3DS, mainly Fire Emblem Awakening and Bravely Default
  3. **Addon Request** - Tech advances.

Urgh, this thread is really dissolving into nonsense. And um, just a question, but shouldn't this be in the addon-section? And isn't there already a buildcraft/TFC fix? or is that outdated?
  4. Animals AI

So, At day, passive animals will wander, and hostile animals will take shelter. At night, hostile animals will wander, and passive animals will take shelter. This will result in animals hiding under trees and inside caves in the wild, or if the animal has been captured and penned, trying to find shelter in a barn or similar structure. At day, animals will seek out bodies of water(doto drink from I guess) Basically, animals will be going back and forth from their shelter, to the water source, and back. This will also result in animals gathering near bodies of water, since animals wander over to the water source, and even if they wander off again, when time comes to go to a water source again, the nearest water source will probably be the one they visited before, meaning they will most likely wander back, and as this repeats, more and more animals will gather to sources of water. . I like it. It would also be nice if the animal's behavior changes along with the day. For example, wolves, when wandering at night, can actively seek out and hunt covering large areas, but wolves at day, snoozing in their caves, can simply wander in a very small area, and not attack unless attacked. And deer can run away from you at day, but at night, be slower, and only run away if you get real close/hit it And so on and so forth, so the time of the day could be a important factor when hunting/capturing animals as well
  5. Ridiculous Suggestions

    Incompatibility with minecraft
  6. Ask the person below you

When mankind first discovered/invented whatever it was that let them advance in technology. What is your favorite mod(other than TFC)
  7. 1up

/me crashes the server and moves to a singleplayer world.
  8. Last comment wins

    :^D
  9. Millanarie/TerraFirmacraft Crossover

We'll need to scale the NPC's health up, change all items and blocks, and if we add in the suggestion OP made....... We might as well forget the Millanarie mod, and just make a NPC-addon mod of our own for TFC. Though, I would like to see a addon like millanarie for TFC.
  10. Ridiculous Suggestions

A button that crashes servers and corrodes the world save when pressed
  11. Integrated Map

I would like it if the spawnpoint doesn't automatically register, and your location isn't shown as well, so while you have waypoints and a map, it's up to you to find your way around. Would also like it if ink is bottle+dye and the color of the waypoints/map depends on the dye. Like, the map is 'blank' until you color in the biomes and such, but what biome gets what color depends on what ink you choose. So in my map, I might choose to color the desert white, because I have lots of bones, but another player might choose to color it yellow(or something like that)
  12. Ridiculous Suggestions

    Rainbow Steel #nuffsaid
  13. Ridiculous Suggestions

Rabbit pie. And rabbit stew. But since I'm nice, I won't ask for rabbit mobs, or rabbit meat or anything like that Just the pie and stew
  14. Food

I would eat with him, but I'm pretty much on the other side of the earth, so.....
  15. Ridiculous Suggestions

    The end?
  16. Food

True. Eating alone is boring. And I can never really bothered to make good food when I'm eating alone.
  17. Corpses, Food, and Butchering

Actually, I did think of that. If you look right under the 'preparing a carcass' part, you can see Didn't put it in with 'disposing the corpses' bit because you actually do get product out of it, so it's more of a processing the corpse rather than disposing of it.
  18. Ridiculous Suggestions

.... now I want to see all hostile mobs go ride a animal if they spawn near one, but babies will only ride chickens, pheasants, and baby animals, and adults(non-babies?) will only ride full grown cow/pig/sheep/dear/bears. Ooooh, a wither skeleton with armor and spear riding a bear.... now that would be a frightening thing to face
  19. Well the thing is... those where as you say, claypots, not jugs. While yes, clay vessels where used to store water for the family, the containers used tended to be a bit bigger than the average jug. I'd say that a waterskin and a clay jug would have near same capacity, but a jug would be a bit bigger, and also have the advantage of keeping the water a little cooler, and not having the old-leather taste that water inside a waterskin gets after a few hours. I think clay jugs and leather water skins should both hold water for around 2~3 days, but a jug should have slightly more, like more uses, or restore more thirst. I think they should hold about 4~5-ish servings, and adding more on the 'waterskin is better for travel than jug', how about a jug can break at any time, so not only can it break in the middle of a trip leaving you with nothing to drink from, it could also break when water is still left in it, wasting the water. A waterskin should wear and disappear, but only get damage to durability if you drink upall the water, so you know that the water skin won't break at least until you drink up all the water, and you can also know when to get a new skin, so it'll be much more handy when traveling. However, a water jug that can be placed down, and restores more thirst, would be more useful around the house than a waterskin. The storage methods, I think would be nice, I mentioned above so I won't say again. And this is just me going everywhere, but speaking of clay water pots.... Won't it be nice to have a method to store water before the copper age? Say, a clay vessel/pot of sorts that stores around oh, half or 1/4 the capacity of a barrel, and can't be used for things like, say making a barrel of tannin to fully prepare leather(this could also work with the ideas to have scraped hide be the 'pre-metal leather'), but could be used for things like brewing alcohol, soaking hide in limewater, making a smaller explosive, etc
  20. Ridiculous Suggestions

Huh, why are chicken jockys not balanced? they're fast and speedy, sure, and get no fall damage, but their rare and I think that makes up for it. Kinda like a rare stronger monster. If it's the entire 'spawns a animal' thing, we could always make a skeleton chicken/pheasant thing that the baby zombie rides or something. And I'm probably saying thing too much.
  21. I would use glass for the same reason, but since I don't have glass, I stick with using a thermos to make my water really really cold so I can't taste that taste. Or stick with tea. Anyways if we do have water skins, I think it should be worth more than one sip, and the jugs should be worth more than one sip as well. I think leather waterskins should slowly degrade instead of randomly disappearing, and not be placeable in chests when full, so while more or less same as the jugs, you know when it'll disappear, so you don't have problems like walking out into the desert then having your water jug break. So a waterskin would be better for travel as you can avoid unexpected breakage of your water container, but a water jug will be better for in-home use since it's a lot more sturdy(usually anyways), and can be placed on the ground or in a chest for more effective storage.
  22. The Night

The main problem is, well..... the night isn't dangerous bed or no, unless you, like stated above, like to run around at night, or make a really dumb shelter that mobs can come into. While it's true that a bed lets you pass a very dangerous part of the day, the thing it, making a thatch box does the very same thing, it just takes a much longer time. HOWEVER. There is a difference between these two methods. One is that unlike a bed, not sleeping makes it a lot harder to tell if the night is over. You have to keep your ears open for the sound of burning dead, or leave a window open and risk getting sniped by a skeleton. Granted, this isn't really that hard to do, and skeletons probably won't wander close enough to see you and shoot anyways. Of course, if on hard, a zombie can break through your door as well, provided that you actually have a door The second is a bit of a bigger difference. The morning. The bed, if used correctly, can prevent all surface mobs form spawning. However, if you spend the night while not sleeping, even at day, you are in danger from creepers, baby zombies, and undead with hats/under overhangs/in forests, at least for the first few (in-game) early hours of the day. And this is, I think the biggest difference. A bed, truly can give a 'peaceful experience on hard' because mobs don't spawn at all. However, not sleeping the night is different, because mobs do spawn, and some of these mobs can survive the sun and give you a very nasty surprise. I think it would be nice if you could skip the night, but it didn't effect the spawning of mobs, so when you wake up, you have to be careful because youcanwalk out the door and get slaughtered by that baby zombie, or creeper, or something
  23. Glass bottles break? well that's news to me. I don't like the idea of rotten food being used as fertilizer unless it just makes very crappy fertilizer, or a very very little amount of fertilizer. Don't really care about rotten flesh, though since rotten flesh can be very abundant, it might kinda mess up the entire balancing of farming
  24. It's not really 'hate won'. Love gave as much, if not more, pressure. He said it himself. When he first made minecraft, he did it for fun. There was not much people looking at it, and he could do it like a fun little side-project, Heck, one of the features in minecraft was practically added as a joke, and the creeper model is actually a messes-up pig model he thought looked cool. Anyways, the point is, he could do whatever he wanted, and not feel any pressure about whether the feature would be 'good' or not. But now with thousands of people loving minecraft and looking at his every words(or tweets, whatever) he's feeling the pressure. He can't just add whatever fits his fancy, and he can't mess up. Everyone expects everything to be perfect, and that kind of pressure made him crack. It has nothing to do with hate or love, it's just that all notch wanted was a fun project he could work on freely the way he wanted, and minecraft just wasn't it anymore. Personally, I don't blame him. If I made something just for fun, and suddenly hundreds of people where staring at me getting super-hyped about everything I was about to put into it, I think I would crack under that pressure as well.
