      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Skill mechanic suggestion

Dwarf Fortress had a good(IMO) skill system. You can get a legendary skill at everything you can spare time with, but only until that life. Skills get rusty if not used and will degrade when not used for a long time(like a couple of years). Fifteen skill levels from Dabbling to Legendary. Items produced with a masterwork quality will have better durability and damage factor(oh i wish bioxx implement df combat system). Soldiers with legendary skills in combat hits harder and smarter, dealing more damage or even simply giving a death sentence in one blow. Legendary farmers plants the seeds more efficiently, giving more crops at harvest. I could go on and on, but I think you got the ideas.
  2. New Skill: Mining

Mining skill... Hmm. Maybe increase the value of the mined ore? One point in the skill increases the value by 0.01%. 400 points to raise 25 to 26. Simulates the miner getting better at not hitting the actual high concentrate ore to stone dusts and unusable chips of the ore. Or the skill gives a chance to drop a usable 5 point ore every with the chance being (2.skill)/skill+3200 . At 400 it's still a 1/5 chance to get a chip for every ore. 1/20 chance to drop a second drop on non-metal ores.
  3. New early game tool: broad axe

You should still be able to split planks to sticks efficiently too. But since the vanilla log-to-stick ratio is 1:8 which in TFC is the ratio for planks, people should be able to split a plank to 2 sticks. But that somehow reduces the usefulness of a scythe...
  4. Explosives, a use for gunpowder.

Blunt damage, it is. It should replace crushing damage, though.
  5. An Aesthetic Use for Gems

Hmm. Putting one as a chisel head? The better the quality, the lower the right-click delay is. Or put it into sawblades to give little bonus of durability, change it to a completely different item but retain the previous NBT, give it some durability and add a little bit more efficiency than the original item. Durability and efficiency depends on the quality and/or the type of the gemstone. When it breaks, spawn the previous saw and damage it a bit. Smashing one with a hammer seems plausible. Why don't we just make diamond dust by hitting one on an anvil? You just need to hit, hit, hit, and hit.
  6. Armor... overhaul?

Three?? 1*1*1 is one. Don't you learn kindergarten math? Also, a better measurement is the ingot stacks, since you can physically see the ingot's size comparing to the world's building blocks. You got 64 ingots per one cubic meter. Google gives us 122.65625 kg. An ingot is ALWAYS less than that because there are empty spaces around the ingots, so let's assume the weight to be 120 kg. Make it a double sheet and you got 480 kg. So, that is pretty much what Kitty said.
  7. Wood pile

There's a non-TFC mod called HoloInventory. I think you can use that.
  8. Staying with 1.6.4 discussion

Why don't the devs utilize things added in vanilla 1.7? Red sand could be a new way to get iron. Podzol could have more max nutrition in exchange of immobility. Packed ice would be used in 'refrigerator' structure to cool food. Extract poison from pufferfish(but the potion effect itself is broken). I'd gladly upgrade to 1.7 for this mod. cpw? Is that truly you?
  9. From my experience, don't get hit by a zombie unless you're looking for them. If one hits you, 2-4 more zombies will spawn 80~100 meters from the hit location and they will walk to the location. Try getting a higher ground or craft some javelins and axes. Javelins can't break when thrown away but will break if you left-click one. You can sprint-hit zombies from ledges to deal 72+ damage per fall. Attack skeletons with a stone hammer(kitty need to add the hammer head knapping process to the stone age guide). Crushing damage type deals double damage to skeletons. When an armored skeleton appears, it's your chance to get armor early in the game.
  10. Fruit Sources

I got one. I'm not sure of what fruit will it bear because I'm lazy enough to wait near it for months. They still spawn, though.
  11. Infinite Map Mod?

MapWriter? They have that screen-wide map for you to scroll.
  12. Very, very deceptive. The hole is tempting me to jump down there. I did.
  13. Berry help

They'll do five damage per hit, not so much. But at least it works a bit against zombies, haha. When will they grow another block? Seems like they don't reproduce at all. Or is it just me?
  14. Bonus Chest?

No bonus chest for starters? Or maybe spawn a zombie with 1 health 5 blocks above you with an inventory of the bonus chest so the player won't have a bonus chest. It could contain a bit of food, one-three seeds of some plants, or some stone tools. Some metal ingots would help too, since players can't process it without a forge/anvil.
  15. How do you get more Crop Seeds?

On another topic, how do you get more berry bushes?
  16. Not working with other mods [v.0.78.11]

  17. Extreme lag with latest update

I have a little bit similar problem. The lag is worse than Two's but also similar. The log file is over 60 MB in size, all because of this line getting spammed: 2014-04-29 16:49:51 [INFO] [STDOUT] canSnow2014-04-29 16:49:51 [INFO] [STDOUT] canSnow2014-04-29 16:49:51 [INFO] [STDOUT] canSnow2014-04-29 16:49:51 [INFO] [STDOUT] canSnow2014-04-29 16:49:51 [INFO] [STDOUT] canSnow2014-04-29 16:49:51 [INFO] [STDOUT] canSnow2014-04-29 16:49:51 [INFO] [STDOUT] canSnow2014-04-29 16:49:51 [INFO] [STDOUT] canSnow2014-04-29 16:49:51 [INFO] [STDOUT] canSnow2014-04-29 16:49:51 [INFO] [STDOUT] canSnow2014-04-29 16:49:51 [INFO] [STDOUT] canSnow2014-04-29 16:49:51 [INFO] [STDOUT] canSnow2014-04-29 16:49:51 [INFO] [STDOUT] canSnow
