      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

the Changelog archive

10 posts in this topic

Now, i've been reading some of these threads, and the occasional mention to stuff like the Combat changes is listed, yet ive been looking around and its quite hard to find anything organized on said changes, or any group of changes for that matter,

because of this i'd suggest a forum admin or someone bioxx and dunk trust to organize the Changelog archive in categories like: agriculture, combat, buildings, miscallanious (definitly spelt both definitly and misscallanious wrong :D )

this would allow both old and new TFC'ers to quickly see what changed from vanilla to TFC, without need of a lot of searching, or look up specific changes (like previously mentioned combat changes)

if this was mentioned or done somewhere, please provide the link and i'll delete the topic, if not, go ahead and comment.

also, i'm not a native English speaker, so dont mind the spelling, I've tried my best :D

It's a fairly standard change log format.

Things should be organized by release date. The search bar can usually find anything that you're looking for.

eh yes, by data is good, but it would be nice to have alternate ways of viewing it such as he said, by type of update. That way people could easily catch up on what's happened. If they start playing and go "Why can't I make a stone pickaxe?" they can go look at all the mining updates and see that pickaxes were removed.

Well, with every single thing the mod has added, changed and removed since it started, it would sure as hell be a lot of work for Bioxx to do... :

Couldn't we apply some community work on that? let the members of the forums decide the categories, what goes where, and make the list, and then handing it to Spanser so he can update the changelog with this.

well like i said Bioxx shouldnt do this by himself anyway, i'd rather see them get someone else specifically for keeping website and forums and wiki a tad bit organized in layout and function, (and no this isnt saying its bad right now, but it could always do better, like the suggestion thread inside the suggestion forum to show whats already been said, thats a great idea)

shalalieshalalalshalalieshalala bumpetybumpbumpbump.

no but in all seriousness, i think this one is important enough not to be lost via inactivity, so unless someone tells me its secure, ill bump this one every now and then (once a week or so)

this changelog thing would be done in order to help new players find the major differences between vanilla and TFC, and veterans to know what a specific function is listed as, which would even help out in the support department: I CANT MAKE A PICKAXE (example <) even for someone without basic knowledge of pickaxes, it'd be easy to search the archive and see the pickaxe system was replaced (plus im sure most newer people here dont read the archive bit unless they need it for something, a orderly system would rank it per subject, not post date)
