      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Welding ingots

6 posts in this topic

My friend and I have spent the past 30 minutes trying to weld two bronze ingots together but we are unable to do so. Both ingots are bright red, have flux, and are using a tin hammer. What are we doing wrong?

What are the requirements for all the other higher tiered metals and alloys?

Thanks.

Ingots have to be very close to melting point in ingot form to weld them. Otherwise, it won't work.

If they're bright red the heat is probably correct. Are you using ingots that have been shaped or unshaped ingots? You can't weld unshaped ingots.

What type of anvil are you using? Bronze has to be worked on a copper-or-better anvil. Stone will NOT work.

We got it to work at "bright hot ****" but it will not weld at "bright hot" as it is marked in the wiki.
