Charcoal Pits

Hello,

I made a charcoal pit, a 5x5 charcoal pit. I had filled several (4-5) blocks with wood (16 logs each). When the charcoal pit was done There were only 3 piles with charcoal. I got a total of 15 charcoal from those 3. Is this how much I am supposed to get, or did I do something wrong and was I supposed to get more?

You can get a max of 8 Charcoal per pile of wood (16 logs)...but you do not always get the max.

And you did fill up the pit with wood piles...right

You only filled some of the piles up, so if you want more, fill up ALL or as many as you can. But keep in mind, you won't always get the maximum possible, but fill up as much as you can, and not just 4 or 5 piles for the best yield.

Thank you, but now I have another problem. I made a charcoal pit, and it doesn't finish at tall. And by that I mean, I put the wood, I lit it, I saw it catches fire (meaning it works), I covered it with dirt and then waited 20 minutes. But it's still burning and not finished. I tried destroying a dirt block to make sure it's working, and it was, it caught fire. So okay, I waited another 20 minutes, and again nothing happend. I tried to break a few blocks, re-light firepit etc, waited 20 mins, and it's still not finished.. Is it bugged by any chance?

Possibly...But make sure you wait 18 hrs in minecraft time. are you sure you placed all the log piles?

Yes, I placed them all. The logs were burning too (before I put dirt on it).

I was thinking that this might be because of a crash I had earlier. I crushed some leaves, then suddenly the world crashed. When I tried to enter the world it said "building terrain" constantly. I had to restart minecraft for it to work. When I logged back into the world, the leaves of the tree were completely bugged and floating.

So, is there anyway to fix this or do I have to delete a world I worked so hard on?

I fear that your world might have been corrupted somehow. However, I haven't got this bug/thing before, so we'll have to wait and see if anyone else has any tips. The only thing I can say here is check if your mods have all been installed correctly and with the right version.

Before doing anything - post your crashlog and your Forge-log(2) that contains these world-crash. Maybe there is something else wrong, that can be repaired without touching your world.

So, is there anyway to fix this or do I have to delete a world I worked so hard on?

Sounds like your world exists for a while?

How often have you updated the mod without reseting your world?
