      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Yet again trouble getting TFC to work

Sooooo I am back here again but this time for a friend of mine. It is pretty straight forward. I made him download everything needed for the mod. Made him do exactly what I did to make my TFC work.

1: MagicLauncher

2: Player API

3: Forge

4: TFC

5: Minecraft.jar

With the magiclauncher installing TFC is a peice of cake. Again, I gave him directly on Skype all the files I use to play the mod right now.

I told him how to work with the MagicLauncher and he has no trouble as the tool is very well done and easy to understand.

In the magic launcher he has the exact same setup with the same version numbers and same everything...

BUT butt

He has a message next to his forge saying "not compatible" in red. On my side I have "1 errors" in yellow (yeah with a "S") after my forge but still works.

So I was wondering WHAT IN THE HOLY F- GRAIL OF DOOM AND DESTRUCTION IS GOING ON :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: I am sad.

1. Try MultiMC instead of Magic Launcher - Magic Launcher is good, MultiMC is better. ^^

2. Maybe he is using YOUR Forge version for HIS minecraft.jar which is maybe not the same version? Probably 1.4.7

3. I'm not sure if your counting means that this is the order you load this mods, but...

It's PlayerAPI AFTER Forge - think of that!

He has all the same files, including my minecraft.jar, but I think I'll just try MultiMC

But still I have no clue why its not working on his end

I only get the red "not compatible" when i try to use it with the wrong minecraft.jar version.

This happens to me when i make a new profile for a new minecraft folder, and forget to change to that minecraft.jar in the new folder.

If MagicLauncher doesn't work out for him ... he can always use my signature Client how-to...

I've had problems with both Magic Launcher and MultiMC in the past, if you've got weird problems try the other one.

I wrote this to install the mods for me. I dont have any documentation, but then again... if you cant figure out how to use it then you are very sad :(. I havent had any problems building TFC with smart moving/REI's at all with this tool, provided you make absolutely sure you use the correct versions for everything (IE forge, player API and whatever else). If MultiMC works for you I suggest sticking with it. It is considerably more likely to be well maintained that the tool I wrote :P
