Getting Thirsty

With TFCraft adding an emphasis on realistic survival, it would make sense to have some type of Thirst meter.

It would function similar to the Hunger meter, but would require some type of water source.

Perhaps you could talk to the author of Thirst Mod to see if he'd let you fork his project.

Yeah this is touched upon in the food topic as well as the salt water topic Having to carry a water skin on you, finding clean sources of water, purifying water, etc. Lots of stuff could be done here.

Agreed. maybe in the beginning, you just right click a water source and if it is fresh water, it replenishes thirst, but salt water will act like bad food does to your hunger.

salt water @ ocean salinity is a hell of a lot worse for you than mild to moderate food poisoning. It actively dehydrates you via osmosis and overworks your kidneys.

A mouthful of salt water isn't gona harm the average person, nor does sampling water mean you have to swollow. Now if your already dehydrated a swig of salt water will finnish you off fairly well without plenty of fresh water to rehydrate you, but again testing the water in your mouth doesn't mean swollowing.

he never said testing, he means to add a drinking mechanic that operates without having to craft a cup/bowl/bucket to hold it.

By that logic you could just have it NOT fill the thirst bar and assume steve spat it out, but if we're to assume the action is the same everytime, steve goes at it with gusto and drinks to fill his thirst as if it were the sweetest water he ever saw.
