Multiplayer Issue

Hey,

I've just downloaded this mod, and it all works fine on single player. I've played a fair portion until a friend got a server running. He can do everything fine on it and I can join, but the world seems to be frozen. Nothing moves and nothing drops, no chat appears, no nothing. However, my friend can see me move around, see the drops I can't get and my chat. Sometimes when I join the server I just end up in darkness, as if I am suffocating. Any ideas?

No ideas honestly, I would however suggest that you post the following info:

Name and FULL version number of your client, mod(s), plugins, etc. Server/computer specs, and maybe a screenshot or two of what you are seeing.

Alright.

I'm on Minecraft version 1.4.6, Forge Version .486, Player API Universal 1.4 for 1.4.6 and the version of the mod straight from the website. I put Forge and API in to my .jar and the mod in to my .minecraft/mods folder. I know the server is running on exactly the same versions as me. Those are all the mods I'm running. Also, it isn't a computer spec problem as I had it with a previous computer.

As for screenshots, it's probably as easy to describe it. There are two possibilities when I log on to the server:

1) I will spawn in to the world as normal, and the world looks normal. I can see my friend and all the work he has done up to my point of coming online, but he doesn't move and none of the animals move either. I can walk around with no lag at all and destroy blocks galore, but they give no drops. Sometimes when I log on again that item magically appears in my inventory. However, while I'm doing this, my friend can see everything I do, and see any chat I say, while I can't.

2) The other possibility is, after a short time of dropping through the endless void, I will end up with the screen that shows when you are trapped in a block. I take no damage and can dig, but that just replaces the suffocating screen with a pitch black one. Here I can see my friend's name tag, but nothing else.

It really is a weird problem, and one I've never had before.

Just for testing purposes, deactivate your firewall, antivirus/spyware or any other internet security program.

What Java version are you using?

And don't forget to turn everything back on after testing

I would do this, but I don't think it will help. Any other vanilla or modded servers (Like Technic) work fine. My AV is silent throughout, and everything has full access to the internetz.

EDIT: If I leave it for a few minutes, I will time out from the server. In the course of that time, I'll sometimes be teleported back to where I spawned. Does that help?

EDIT2: I joined the dedicated server and that would work for a few seconds before a massive error splurged onto me. I'm beginning to think it may just be my horrible internet connection or something.

Are you getting any crash-logs?
