Found Sequoia Sappling

The only reason I mention this is I remember something on the wiki about Sequoia trees not being capable of having sapplings, only to find one on the ground when travelling through my local forest.

I've found several whenever I wander through a Sequoia forest. Best I can tell, they were never removed, they just had their drop chance from leaves reduced to zero. But the instant spawn chance means that it's possible for them to show up on the ground. I've never seen one grow, though, so they're pretty much just a junk item at present.

Might be worth trying the 2x2 arrangement of vanilla jungle trees, just to see, though.

Too bad there isn't some dev tool to use to make these things grow automatically. It'd be nice to see if its possible. By growing automatically, I mean have it check all the necessary items except for time for it to grow, and if they are met, it will grow to its full height.

The sequoia saplings still can't be obtained from destroying leaves, but a few builds ago a new feature was introduced, which made saplings of all tree types spout on their own if all the conditions are met. I can also confirm placing just one sequoia sapling individually will work, and after a few ingame days (seems to take the same amount of time like all trees) it will grow.

sequoias and kapok saplings do in fact exist and can be spawned in though cheats. Kapok saplings have little to no chance of ever existing in the world, however sequoia can spawn in ONLY naturally. The naturally spawned in can be picked up and moved at will.
