      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Quicker log piles

5 posts in this topic

This is just an idea I had. I have log piles sitting around my place, but I always hate to have to enter the GUI to draw logs from it, because it seems a bit clumsy. My idea is to have the player be able to draw logs from a pile by shift clicking with an empty hand. It'd make it easier, and it'd be pretty simple to implement, right?

You mean, a little bit like how Factorization's barrels work?

I've never tried that, but I've heard of how it works, so I'd assume so.

They're quite nice, actually. Many different ways to interact with them:

- Rightclick with item in hand to store it (the whole stack of it)

- Double rightclick with item in hand to store all items of this type that you have in your inventory

- Rightclick with different item/empty hand to get a readout of how many items are stored

- Leftclick to withdraw a whole stack

- Shift leftclick to withdraw a single item

Of course, logpiles are much smaller and less permanent storage units, so they wouldn't need quite that much variety in input/output modes. But the shiftclick to withdraw single logs function would definitely be cool.

When I was watching Dunk's video on build 76. I was thinking how cool it was to place ingots in stacks instead of messing with a GUI and how nice it would be to do this with log piles as well.
