      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

So much lag!

Am I the only one who experiences lots of lag while trying to play this mod? I am able to play FTB on fancy graphics with no problems, but trying to play single player on TerraFirmaCraft even with graphics set to fast and render set to normal, I get pretty horrible amounts of lag. I tried installing Optifine but couldn't get it to work. I'm not sure what's wrong, but I'd appreciate it if someone could help me.

I remember when I first tried playing FTB it was too laggy for me, so I installed 64 bit java and all the lag went away. I don't have 32 bit java installed anymore so I don't think that would be the cause of anything. I really would like to play this but currently it's just unplayable because I don't feel like going through the fps drops every time new chunks start loading.

Ummm never mind, I finally got optifine installed (seems like I had a version installed that wasn't compatible.) and now it is MUCH better. Phew.

I'm having the same problems, my fps will be fine as long as new chunks aren't loading and no blocks are being placed.

TFC really punishes RAM, if you are running 32bit java make sure your render distance is set to normal, Far will do nasty nasty things to your performance.

You can get away with 32bit far in vanilla, but TFC will hurt you for it.
