      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Unable to make glass?

7 posts in this topic

I saw on the wiki that you can make glass in a firepit, I've kept my firepit full of logs and had 1 sand in there, but it doesn't go past Bright Red. What's the deal here?

Edit: I made bellows and added it facing my fireplace, but still didn't help? I kept clicking the bellows and suddenly got glass. Do I have to spam rightclick on bellows to make it work?

You have to hold right click to use the bellow. At some point the temperature won'T rise so you don't have to hit it all the time.

You would have better luck though making a forge instead of dealing with a fire pit. After all a forge can make multiple glass at once and will be useful later in the game as well. Just because you can make glass in a fire pit, doesn't mean it is efficient time wise to do so. Plus a forge is relatively easy to make and maintain, if you keep plenty of bituminous coal/ charcoal around.

I have no idea how to make a forge, it looks so complicated I didn't even bother with the items I have right now.

And I got no idea how to get coal or charcoal..

If you are that low level in the game (Stone age I'd assume). Your buildings really shouldn't have glass in them anyways. Just proof that the current direction TFC is heading towards to fix the "Here is my stone axe! And my house that is up to 21st century building codes and standards" is the right thing to do.

I recommend, then, that you spend a lot of time on the wiki, especially the guides. TFC is way more complex than vanilla MC.
