      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[79.4] Eating out of a bowl causes ghost bowls to appear in inventory

When eating (salad in my case) out of a bowl, the bowl either vanishes or causes a ghost item to appear in the players inventory. The ghost item can be interacted with, but will turn invisible as soon as a server-side GUI is opened (like the food-crafting GUI).

I am not sure if eating ceramic dishes on a regular basis is healthy.

Probably not healthy. Last I checked, silicates were not one of the minerals listed on my multivitamins.

Is this happening in SMP or SSP? I just performed a quick test in SSP and can't confirm. I need more details on exactly how you did this.

Everything in single player.

This is not consistent for me either, had it happen only 2 times in 8 bowls so far, and the ghost bowl vanishes quickly. Happened always after eating the last part of the bowl. Sometimes the ghost item appears, most of the time not.

My guess is that the bowl is added to the player's inventory, but only on the client side, which would explain the ghost items.
