      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Being able to knap two stone hoe heads at the same time?

31 posts in this topic

You guys kinda missed the point. Neither option changes bowls breaking 100% of the time.

I like how them asking to get two hoes for the price of one has turned into a bowl troll. I'm not sure if Kitty should go into business or politics.

A couple points: 1. I thought this thread was about making multiple hoe heads from 1 rock?

2. Traditionally, flint knapping produced 10 or more knives per rock. It makes sense for us to be able to get multiple knives through flint knapping. However, good luck working two hoe heads out of a piece of stone. Just because it fits on our knipping grid doesn't mean it needs to happen.

3. As Kitty has pointed out, bowls not breaking 100% of the time is current off the table. We were presented with 2 options, not 2 options and <insert whatever stipulation you'd like to add here>

While we're all latching onto the idea of bowls, I have a question:

What's with the ceramic pot in the creative menu?

The ceramic pot is a placeholder item that's been in TFC since 78.0. It may eventually get used for something along the lines of stews, or it may get removed entirely. Such is the life of placeholder items.

That's perfectly fine, would be more fun making clay bowls manually than just getting four out of one. This logic already works with a stone knife, mind as well continue it with other tools.

Why not make it into a flower pot?

Wow, 2 hoes, would love it, not going to change...oh well, move on. No really MOVE ON!

As for bowls, as soon as you can make bread, salads and bowls are a non-issue. If you REAALLLLLYYY need to go on a long trip find a rock, add a knife and make something on the fly, it's not hard.

Oh look 2 stone, I can make a shovel, clear some soil, find a rock, make a food prep area...make more sandwiches than I'll use in 2 days, keep running. Run out of sandwiches, repeat. If that's too hard, you're doing it wrong.

To reiterate...MOVE ON!
