      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved] Config Not Working

8 posts in this topic

Version #: 78.17

SSP/SMP (Single/MultiPlayer): SSP

Suggested Name: Config not taking effect

Suggested Category: Annoying

DescriptionHello there fine people

I've been messing around with the config and I noticed that one part of it doesn't work, or rather does not take effect.

In the TFCOptions.txt I changed the amount of units in the different ore types (nuggets, poor, native and rich) but there is no change in game.

I have restarted my game and started a new world and there is still no difference.

ex. the native ores are still worth 25, and not the amount that I set it to.

Thanks to all who try to help me.

Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: The problem is with the config
*If you answered no to the above question, delete your config files and try to reproduce the bug. This question is here because many bugs are caused by mistakes in config files. All bug reports should have an answer of "Yes" to this question.

Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: Yes

I tried to smelt with the crucible and no chance, nuggets still give 10 units instead of the value I changed it to.

And I edited my post.

Thanks.

I seriously doubt, that the devs invest their time to root out a bug in a several months old version of TFC - unless, of course, this bug still exists in the current version 0.79.10.

Could you maybe upgrade and see if it does?

There's your problem actually. The config change for altering unit amounts wasn't added until 0.79.0, so obviously it isn't going to work in older versions because the older versions don't even know the option exists.

Hmmm it's weird that I have this config then. That's unfortunate though, would be cool if I could change the amounts.

If you update to 79.0 or later (like the current version 79.10), you could. We added the feature, we didn't remove it. :)

Is it possible, that you indeed had a 0.79.# on your system once and decided to downgrade? If so, you probably forgot to delete your config files when downgrading, that would explain it ...
