      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

A road vehicle, typically with four wheels, powered by an internal combustion engine or electric motor and able to carry a small number of passengers

I... think he was being sarcastic to prove a point dude. Lol.

I see three different kinds of shellfish. Mussels that are like vis crystals in thaumcraft, start as one, grow to more on same block, can be all harvested at once, or cultivated with a special tool a la crystalline bell. Then, clams, like mushrooms, already been said. Then, finally, quahogs or gweducs or some other LARGE shellfish. There is a gweduc block (like silverfish block) except it looks like dirt. When the player breaks a nearby block, the gweduc block will turn an adjacent block into a gweduc block and change itself to dirt (like the gweduc is moving) However a special gweduc hunting tool that does not trigger this event would allow you to hunt them. Again, if conditions are favorable, a gweduc could spawn more gweducs in the adjacent blocks. Maybe the same tool for the mussels and gweducs: a clamming tool (which is use also for harvesting the clams, cuz breaking them just gives you nothing) I'm not sure the difference, maybe someone else can go into that.

I would like to add some things, because I am currently at the ocean.

first thing: The rocks here are absolutely covered with mussels, and those rocks are not underwater. In fact, I dislike the idea of going underwater to look for mussels because in real life, you can just let the tide uncover mussels, and you can get them without getting wet, which is a bad thing in cold environments (unlike in minecraft). Clams live deep in the sand underwater, which would be a pain without a tide, which is still difficult because you are digging wet sand and your hole is filling with water and the sides are falling in (which doesn't happen in minecraft).

I think that mussels couldn't be harvested with your bare hands, and could be destroyed with a pickaxe, but it would only wield a broken shell, and it would require a chisel like tool to get them off the rock. the lowest tier would be made of flint.

I don't know about clams. Going clamming is work intensive, and I will say that clams are underground, and usually under sand.

On the topic of underwater marine life, there needs to be crabs and crab pots, as well as crabs that can be grabbed off the rocks (with some work)

Not really Peffern. You said nothing about clams being underground, tides, or the materials involved in tools to get mussels, which is what I just said and Lycheborn commented about...

If you were trying to get into that much detail, please edit your post.

Having clams that slowly spread if left alone would make settling on an island a slightly more feasible option. They could be cooked, and perhaps the shell could substitute for flint in the basic tool recipe ? (they're really tough clams, okay?)

JD, clams actually ARE really hard, just FYI.

Edit: I do like the idea of shells as a replacment for flint.

I agree. Flint ran out about two days ago so this would be a welcome relief. So mussel clusters spawn on exposed rock near the ocean.
