ATTENTION Forum Database Breach 03/04/2019
There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again. -

@ Maga. Were you by any chance next to a charcoal pit, possibly with a dirt covering? This has happened elsewhere on 1.7.10 servers with various TFC versions. Not sure if a vanilla issue or a TFC issue. Server restarts are so far the only reliable way to fix the issue that I've been able to find. -
Never personally looked at the date but the server time slow down wouldn't be the issue as I personally have been on long enough for a full 2 years to pass.

Nice try but no. The question is about the mechanics as is, not as you want them to be. So in fact lanterns are 1000% irrelevant as they are currently not included in the mechanic and thus not important what-so-ever to the current question.

I vaguely recall reading about a design that was heavily based on something the uncovered that dated roughly in the mid-to-late 8th century, that they surmised could potentially raise the temperature a good bit. Granted it was only a estimation at the time because the article did state they probably improved the design unintentionally. Not entirely certain if I could find that article again. The premise of the design was do the typical hole in the ground greenhouse, but they found what could have been a rudimentary piping in the walls and what could have been a fire pit of sorts to pump warm air through those pipes. Now keep in mind they didn't think it was a long term thing more likely they used it to extend the growing season maybe one last harvest for certain plants. Not entirely sure what kind of framework the devs work under as far as dating TFC goes, but this might be something to look at. I'll see if I can hunt down that article, but I wouldn't hold your breath it was many years ago that I saw this.

By chanceLlywylln is your server running Cauldron? If it is that is your animal no drop issue. Until the server host updates our Cauldron I can't tell you if it will in fact fix it, but there is a cauldron patch that updates it to the correct forge version for TFC. -

its a cauldron patch that needs to go through, the current most up to date cauldron version is designed for a previous version of forge, whereas the patch brings it up to version TFC is built on. -
there are ways to keep lighting without having to run around, jack-o-lanterns are a good way and through testing the chiseled block become light transparent, so hiding them isn't terribly difficult.

Unless I'm reading that wrong, you might wanna just update to the lastest patch, as it looks like you are three versions behind at this point.

I believe that 'smoke racks' are this. First you need to place wool (maybe string). IIRC the max length is 5 blocks. Then I believe you need to have brined your meat or whatever. Then with more wool (string) on your hot bar you right click your meat onto the line. Then place a firepit underneath and smoke away.

Indeed, it seems to have been a once in a while occurrence, as I haven't been able to replicate the issue.
