      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord ( is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. [Solved] Pickling

I know I can brine plenty of times in the same barrels, same chunks. With pickling, I got it to work when the vinegar barrel was entirely full, but it seems to be taking forever when it's only slightly less full. Maybe it needs to be at 100% in order to pickle properly?
  2. How hard would it be...

to add ONE mob to TFC? My husband was wanting to use a creative map to make the town for our D&D game, and the game involves mammoths. Would it be possible to make, essentially, a copy of the current TFC cow mob, but give it the mammoth skin from the Archaeology mod? I've never made mods myself, but I'm willing to learn and to tinker. Experienced folks, how doable is this?
  3. Of all of these, I would think whitelist would be the best? That's just my thoughts though.
  4. Lower limit for animal size?

I saw on the wiki (and have noticed in-game) that animal size is determined, at least partly, by the size of its parents. This got me thinking, is there an upper and lower limit for animal sizes? Is it possible for me to breed teacup pigs, and giant mutant sheep? I am mostly playing on a server, so all of my animals are descended from one male and female pair of each type, and while I have a good amount of size variation in my sheep, horses, and cows, my pigs are all the same size. Is it possible I've just hit a size limit? Or is something else afoot?
  5. Hey folks, so, I was trying to set up a little house way west of spawn, and I planted a plum tree sapling which seems to have been buggy in some manner? As soon as I planted it, my client crashed, and I haven't been able to log back in. Help?
  6. Forge stopped working

I'm also having forge-related issues today, in that I can't seem to actually create one. I double-checked the wiki to make sure I was doing it correctly, threw in my charcoal, and have gone through two stacks of sticks' worth of firestarters trying to get this thing going. Is there something going on with them today, perhaps?

Just wanted to thank you for running the server I really appreciate it.
  8. Cheese

Cheese and a press would be awesome :3
  9. Clay overhaul: Ceramics, molds, and more! Warning: Long post

I like all of this, and would love to see clay items.
  10. [Offline] New TFC server for a few

So would 3rd-shifters in the US be out of the question, then? I'm in Texas, but usually awake in the middle of the night.
  11. [0.79.15] Rhodance's "HugBox" Server [Closing May 22]

Hello! I'm PersianPenName here, in MC, and on skype. I would like to try a TC server, is there still a spot open?
  12. Wood Ashes

How great would it be to make soap? Then if you got too stinky, all the game could smell you coming and run off.
  13. String

In terms of substituting the original hemp, linen is the closest. They're both bast fibers, obtained by retting/scutching/combing.
  14. Weaving and Dyeing

I understand it's an over-suggested idea, but I also would love to see some form of fibercrafting in the future. I'm a spinner/knitter who's dabbled in dyeing, weaving, and sewing, and in theory it wouldn't be too resource-heavy to set up a simple cloth manufacturing rig. All you need for spinning is either a stick and a rock for a drop spindle, or two sticks/one large stick for a navajo lap spindle. A board and a few sticks would make a simple backstrap loom, which can make surprisingly wide widths of fabric. A bone and a knife could easily make a needle, or knitting needles, which produce small items like socks/boots/hats more easily than weaving. Again, I understand that it's an often-suggested idea, but I do definitely think it has merit.
