      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. I disagree with making stones less easy to find. I can walk around my property and find bazillions of fist-sized rocks everywhere, what you propose is just not very believable. Knapping stone tools also gives you something to do each night since you're not going to be sleeping through it with your straw+hide bed. Giving us things to do at night makes the game seem a little less tedious; removing said things to do at night would just mean sitting in your small hut and twiddling your thumbs as you spend your 10th night sitting there with an organized inventory and half-broken stone tools.
  2. General Damage tweaking.

Ah, gotcha. That seems reasonable, and would definitely increase difficulty.
  3. General Damage tweaking.

Seems like it would be incredibly easy for a single faction to control the main vein and thus all metal on the server, then.
  4. Maize Tortillas

Devs seem to like just having two meal options in the game (salads and sandwiches.) I wouldn't be against something else, though. More food items always make more interesting and varied breakfasts and dinners. However, I think the main problem is that they probably don't want to draw up art and program more stuff into the game (that could potentially create more problems/bugs) when they can be spending time on fixing bugs for this version and working on TFC2. Just my take on it, feel free to comment/share your onion's worth.
  5. I listen to folk music. Scandinavian and Celtic are my favorite.
  6. Journal of a playthrough with v79.18

What shader pack do you use?
  7. !ANNOUNCEMENT! To all players joining: We have a new topic! Please follow this link:http://terrafirmacraft.com/f/topic/8725-foxtfcraft-new-topic-7923-forgeessentials-bibliowoods-mytown2/ The new topic is updated with current server info. As of now, this topic is outdated.
  8. Ask the person below you

None of them. What am I named after?
  9. I feel like difficulty decreasing in a chunk the longer you stay in it encourages you to settle down and stop being a nomadic person. Once you find a good spot with metal and decent soil for farming, you'll want to set up a homestead and, well, make yourself at home.
  10. [Request] Revive Terrabow

Gunpowder is so useful for large-scale mining. Like Kitty said, if you have an excess, use it. On the topic of bows, a longbow would be cool, but the current one serves the purpose just fine.
  11. Starting Guide for the first-time TFC player

You probably want to add in how to make a charcoal pit, as that's something you'll want to be making before you start doing metalworking by forge. If you wait until you get to the metal age to make charcoal, you're going to be spending a lot of time cutting down trees and just sitting around and waiting for the charcoal to be done so you can start making some stuff.
  12. TFC related Memes

    Finding an iron ore vein:
  13. Interdimensional Transport

They took strongholds out of the game. There is no legit way to get to the End in this game. As for the Nether, I think they have also taken obsidian out of the natural world too. So there is no way to legitimately get obsidian other than cheating it in. Even if you did, I think it's extremely buggy and doesn't work (need confirmation.)
  14. Dump ability on crucibles

I regularly smelt batches of 18-27 ingots of bronze. I don't alloy very often (I usually just stick to iron/steel), but when I do mess up, it really isn't that much effort. You could be getting a second batch of metal/ore ready in the meantime, or generally doing other things (organizing, getting a trash pit ready for the trash ingots, etc.) I find having a barrel of water ready for cooling ingots down is good practice, as it lets you almost instantly remove the ingots from the mold and re-use it (if you're in short supply for molds, that is.) If you're having difficulty smelting bronze and are getting unknown mixtures all the time, I would suggest simply having your inventory empty of any ingots except for your tin and copper ratio. In general, TFC is a very unforgiving game. If you mess up, you will have to pay the consequences.
  15. Journal of a playthrough with v79.18

Nice. I like the design of the tower, it's very menacing.
  16. Dump ability on crucibles

It doesn't make any sense to code something entirely new into the game when you can already do it in just a couple minutes ingame anyways.
  17. I might make a new topic for this server. Blueyogaball hasn't been around to update this one. In other news, it's almost the 50th in-game year anniversary of this server
  18. Dump ability on crucibles

I'm not really understanding your logic. Can you explain more thoroughly?
  19. Dump ability on crucibles

Well, you're not exactly playing under a time limit. Just cast the unknowns and re-smelt your bronze mixture.
  20. Dump ability on crucibles

Can you not just make more ingot molds? Clay seems to be a fairly abundant resource.
  21. Dump ability on crucibles

Unknown ingots can be stacked in piles now. If you really don't want the ingots taking any space up, just throw them on the ground and wait for them to disappear.
  22. Shiphty's Shiftless Slog (A photo journal)

    Any more updates?
  23. How you "pitch" TFC to new players?

It's magical. In all seriousness, I usually just tell people that it's survival minecraft with more survival elements. Thirst, pottery, can't punch trees with your fists, and the night is something to be very afraid of. But in the end, once you have a settlement going, the hardships of getting through that initial year of hiding in caves/thatch huts is worth it once you get a bi-yearly harvest of crops and a palisaded town with a mine and metalworking.
  24. There are only 4 circles and none of them touch

A simple illusion. I can see it pretty clearly, but people who don't know what it looks like without the pattern might have a harder time.
