      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. [79.6] Recover Things after Dying

I'll come back to this after I met my next bear ... Anyway, I think bears really are too small, and could be much darker in color, more like grizzly bears for instance. Then nobody would mistake them for wolves anymore. Also, I think the heads are much like wolves' heads; I must say, I like the older bear model from Dunk better and more distinguishable.
  2. What is the average center now? I haven't really played since the new ore generation was introduced, and before that you could tell at which height in a layer the ore would generate. But anyhow, wouldn't it be better to dig not too deep while searching, as digging down is always safer than digging up?
  3. [Solved] Unit Amounts for Ores

I just have a question, don't think this is a bug: I gathered about 20 pieces of copper and tetrahydrite combined from scavenging and a bit of gold panning and threw them into a vessel to smelt - I thought I would get out three ingots worth of copper, but only got 2! I guess, it's intentional that small ores only give 10 units, but haven't found any related info about that on the change log. I know that it's out of date now, but the wiki states 15, 25 and 35 units out of the different ore sizes. If that's not true anymore, what are the correct numbers now?
  4. [Solved] Unit Amounts for Ores

Of course -.- Sorry, I just forgot, I guess it was always like this ...
  5. Version #: 79.6 SSP Suggested Category: Severe-Annoying Description: Found that by accident; it's possible to craft fences with 6 sticks, I guess that's not intentional? Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: No, haven't tried that yet, sorry. Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: Yes, Fastcraft
  6. [Intentional][79.6] Vanilla Fence Recipe Possible

Nobody told me that, I just assumed, because I thought it was meant to be more expensive to make fences, since you need 4 full logs and 2 lumber for the TFC variety ... [Edit] Sorry, this was meant to be in the "Minor" Category, that's by no means a severe thing.
  7. [Intentional] Pink Sheep in TFC??

Haha ^^ Fair enough, I guess you are right
  8. [Intentional] Pink Sheep in TFC??

Version #: 79.6SSP/SMP (Single/MultiPlayer): SSPSuggested Name: Pink SheepSuggested Category: MinorDescription: While exploring my world, I came by a female pink sheep; nothing more to it, but I find it VERY weird in TFC ...Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: No, don't think, that would change anythingDo you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: Yes, Fastcraft
  9. I think I got that too once - there's many weird things going on with the food stuff ... I'd also like to mention, that the shortcuts S and D for stacking and decay cuts work quite messy too, with jumping random foods from the inventory into the crafting grid and the like. Another thing I noticed is a ghost bowl appearing in the cooking GUI every time after using the last one for a meal. It is invisible, but I saw it blinking after clicking, so I know what it was. I can take it into the inventory, but has no function. I normally just throw them away, but it's annoying ...
  10. [79.6] Recover Things after Dying

Well, mine was definitely grey ... looks like missing texture. When I went there after some time, the bear was gone/despawned, so I couldn't confirm ...
  11. [79.6] Recover Things after Dying

No texture packs either. I'm not really sure, what exactly I saw, because it happened quite fast - what are bears in TFC supposed to look like? Textures I mean. Never saw one before ...
  12. [79.6] Recover Things after Dying

    10.13.1.1217 as recommended
  13. I was just thinking, is there ingame any way to tell that you already fed one specific animal that day once?Otherwise it could get quite messy with a bunch of animals running around in your pit when you don't know anymore which one already fed and which not ...Except, of course, if you go so far as to tie every single one to its own post while familarizing them ^^
  14. [Solved] Firepit put out in rain under thatch blocks

But wouldn't the thatch block need to be fixed instead of the firepit? If so, than the barrel bug fix would have solved this problem too.But then again, I don't understand much about coding ...
  15. [Solved] Firepit put out in rain under thatch blocks

I did report this in the other Thatch tread; got answered by Kitty that it was fixed in one of the now past versions; seems like it's still around. Didn't have the chance to test though ...
  16. [Edited] "It's much too cold to sleep here."

I must say, I kinda like the idea ...
  17. [Intended Behavior] [b79] Thatch block glitch?

You mean 79.6?Well thanks, that was quick
  18. [Intended Behavior] [b79] Thatch block glitch?

Didn't want to start a new topic here, but it seams that I have found an unintended behaviour of Thatch blocks (Bug?): Thatch blocks only visually don't let the rain in, but the rain STILL extinguishes campfires when roofed with thatch! I wondered quite some time, why I couldn't make my fire burn, but then I realised it may have something to do with the new thatch block; tested with a log instead of the thatch block, and voilà, fire burns ... Thatch shouldn't let the rain through, otherwise it has no point whatsoever anymore, since even monsters now walk through them like through thin air. [NO mods installed besides Fastcraft, latest TFC version with correct Forge-version]
  19. I didn't even notice - why is it so that water doesn't generate above sea-level?It's a pity when we can't have waterfalls or such, which would make TFC world gen even prettier ...And how is it "intentional", that salt water magically turns to fresh water after being 'filtered' by a sluice?
  20. Make Stone Age Longer.

Again - I would not limit the pottery system itself (which much rarer straw would cause), but rather the early metal smelting system! In my opinion, we should have access to fired clay items like jugs, vessels or bowls much earlier than making the first metal tool, so just limiting straw wouldn't be the ideal answer. I'm just not sure, how to best seperate early pottery from metal production ...
  21. Shelf in plank.

Haha! For real? I thought, that was a joke It's an honor ^^
  22. Shelf in plank.

  23. Make Stone Age Longer.

I like the ideas of both Rowist and Djakuta. Not sure about the nutrition thing though ... But I think, the problem with limiting thatch is, that it's a very (the most??) important early game building block, which saves the lives of many Steves early on. Also, it's required for the whole pottery mechanism, which I wouldn't love to see gone until the bronze age; that should be there way before smelting metals! Sure, that would be the simplest and supposedly easiest to code solution to make the stone age much longer. A very small step that would make a whole new gameplay experience. But what if make the solution a bit more complicated and just seperate smelting from pottery? As it stands, smelting copper, even bronze, is no more complicated than fire a clay jug! Why not make early smelting require more than just filling a vessel with some ores and fire it like all your pottery? You could tie such a bottleneck requirement to a whole new early smelting mechanism, that doesn't necessaily have to be hard to implement? Thoughts on that?
  24. Forests on the equator

Well, if you take our Earth as model here - every day has 24 hours, in summer as well as in winter, regardless where you are. What changes is just the distribution of these hours into light and shadow
