I had a similar virus once, telling me i have done something illegal and shit. How i removed it: Virus pops up: Ctrlaltdel => logout (task manager won't work), logged back in and it took a few seconds before the thing didnt come back and i had time to let Stinger run over my pc.. while stinger wasnt able to kill it but to find it, i killed it manually. It makes me so happy to see that you devs try to get the best stuff you can get. Someone's making horses and carts already? why no collaborate with them and thats exactly what you do. That is so perfect i can't find words. Find the positive parts other guys already did and try to collaborate with the to include their code into TFC, this way a lot more stuff is going to be even better with less effort from you. well you settled in the wrong place then... Choosing a place to settle is much more important in TFC than in vanilla. you just don't have everything around you in TFC. Make sure you got an igneous layer where you settle. Or make sure to mine (by hand...may take a GOOD while) one piece of igneous rock on your journey. Most of the times it takes me more than an hour to find a good spot where i want to settle in TFC.

Hi and welcome to the forums and the nice overview you gave, a few words to it. The game is actually not that hard once you understood how it works. Im pretty fast to get my first tools and start mining. A few things to keep in mind: The anvils: They pose the single and only thing that is is separated in tiers in TFC, cause it should take some time and work to get the better tools. A Steel pick for example has around 2.5 times the durability of a diamond pick from vanilla MC. Before you can start you need to make sure that you settled near a layer of igneous rock or you need to, slowly, get yourself a block of igneous stone by handmining the stone around it, this may take some time. About the ores, congratulations you are one of the few ppl that find only copper, that is actually pretty rare and it sounds like you had some bad luck. But you made bronze, so it seems you have cassiterite too. Make your first tools with tin, preferably a pick axe and a prospectors pick. Then go to the point where you found the ore and dig down, best way to do so is go down to about Y 130-140. Start checking the walls with your prospectors pick and try to find the first readings of the ore. Once you found it pin point it down. There are guides in the wiki on how to use the pro pick. Once you found your first vein, you should be good to make a lot of tools. A normal first vein should have at least around 5 stacks of ore. that is well enough to make tools. The next 2 tools you want to make are a chisel and a hammer. The chisel is used to make a bloomery for faster ore melting and the hammer is used to make flux, which you struggle to find, but keep in mind that a lot of stone can also be turned into flux. (see wiki for information about that). Once you found deposits a bit deeper (im always getting useful results at around Y60), you'll be set for a good while with that metal. Oh and really, forget about running through caves to find ores...you probably won't. The less caves the better for digging, cause there's more stone that can have ores in it. Once you got the metal hammer and a flux stone or even borax, make flux and make your first real metal anvil with it. Believe me, once you worked out how this stuff works it's not so hard anymore. But TFC really requires you to learn a bit how it works before you can use it easily.

The stone pickaxe won't come back, thats for sure. But i understand the problem with no igneous stone, but if you're on a server, there will be ppl that have igneous stone and you may be able to trade with them for a piece of raw stone, to make yourself an anvil or maybe even use their anvil for a while.

Kimberlite doesent drop ore, even if the wiki says so. You can mine it and have a pretty high chance of finding a diamond, but no ore or anything similar will drop for each block. Mine on and swim in diamonds.

hmm i never got struck by lightning nor did a lightning ever damage my house or any house around my town i'd knew off. They only thing is a tree or two getting struck in a hard storm... So the idea is all nice and stuff but is it really worth the effort and the cpu usage? Either its a sided feature you may or may not see...ever, or it happens so often that it pisses everyone off. i don't really see a reason in this feature.

you forgot to include all the additional iron you need to weld the weak black as well as the black steel to weld the red and blue steel with. Gets a LOT more then.

@bioxx as i mentioned in my bug report: the game reports ticks passed. But not the real date. The game then takes your config and looks how long your year is and like this calculates your date. There also are colored beds since like may in the texture files... I think bioxx added a lot more into them than he really wants to add. It may be a relict of the first days when the ideas were not perfectly ironed out... but i'd like to be surprised by bioxx. As said... i'd love to make coke!

just to tell you, about all you suggest was already suggested a lot of times and discussed to death. It may come or may not, the dev's were not very clear about that as i recall. But it makes sense that animals drop that much meat. Reproduction is slow and not working at the moment. You only have massive ammounts of meat if you travel. As soon as you settle somehwere your supply gets limited very fast.

you're not the only one having them. Normal forum as well as the main site has the same problems. I don't know why though.

Use willows. average is a bit over 1 stack per tree, lots of leaves to easy chop them with the scythe. Pretty fast once you made a nice willow farm. I don't really see the problem with Charcoal... it's supposed to be limited, so you think about how you want to use it and not just smelt all the ores you find to eventually use them another day. About your ideas: Not compatible with the spirit of TFC are: 5, 6. could be done but i don't think bioxx would: 1, 2, 3, 4 Then there is number 7: It's being discussed if trees will grow into bigger trees, but slower and in stages....but that lies in the future. And number 8: i'd like to be able to make coke, but i fear it's not also not in the way that bioxx wants to go.
