ATTENTION Forum Database Breach 03/04/2019
There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again. -

Agree. Right now (at least for me) it's like eat veggies at summer, and at winter kill your 2000 animals that dont need to be fed and are an OP food source. It would be a lot of fun, at autumn, you would need to gather fruits, nuts, grain and veggies into cellars, make cheese, smoke meat and fish and candy, jelly, dry and pickle to the point of absurdity. P.S. has anyone read the Brambly Hedge books? The illustrations are amazing!

With Build 77 and thatch, the need to harvest grass is now greater than ever. Basically, i'm suggesting that a stone sickle could be made by knapping. The sickle would harvest all grass in a 2x2 area. That would help a lot during early game. And, also, collecting straw would have a chance (1/10?) to drop grass grain, ass suggested multiple times earlier. Edit: I understand if this would feel OP to some of you. It's just a suggestion.

I like the seed bread bit, i have actually tried it IRL. I ground about a dl of timothy grass seeds and baked the dough on a hot stone. It was hard but tasty.

Sugar cane tends to grow in a little more tropical climate than your average TFC forest. It should be only found in the jungles and oases of the wild equator regions. Instead, we should have different kinds of reeds. From the top of my head I would say at least common reed and cattail. Common reed could be made into thatch and its seeds could be ground into primitive flour. Cattail roots could be eaten, its pollen and and shoots harvested for food at spring(perhaps some kind of integration to the seasonal system?) and its leaves weaved into basketry. That would make a nice little feature to the game.
