      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord ( is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Help Kitty with Homework!

Here is a question: Does the internet promote teaching/training of homegrown extremists (in this case jihadists) and ultimately encourage them to fight a war in the middle-east as, for example, ISIL fighters? And if so, how and why?
  2. Rings and things: Chainmail armor and related items

I support this too. As well as the idea that wearing armour made out of metal cools you down. Protection vs survival. First we need player body temperature implemented tho...
  3. A Hard Lesson to Learn

I once fell to death into a ravine just barely exposed. Sometimes i get blown up by creepers. If it's obvious i can't get my stuff back on time, i hop into creative mode to get it back xD
  4. So now that we can also find sulphur on the surface near lava and every ore can be found near the surface with a bit of luck, what is there left to do in the depths of TFC worlds? Who still cares about these impressive open caves with nothing in there but death? I find TFC has moved further away from minecraft in b79. It's more like prospecting-survival-craft than minecraft to be honest. I'm just throwing my opinion out there so that perhaps in the future TFC can go back a bit to the roots of what it is based upon (i.e. minecraft). Spelunking and deep mining should be more rewarding and worthwhile.
  5. Hello, I'm here to help!

    Moderators need training? Regardless,... welcome!
  6. An Apology

Stay strong, Kitty and take care. One conversation with a person next to you and you may appreciate these forum "issues" aren't really that big a deal. My advice is not to spill emotions over what happens on the internet.
  7. TFC 1.8 ?

    That's all i wish for.
  8. [TFC 0.79.13] So many resources, great for beginners

Nice, basalt is pretty awesome. All the useful ores spawn in it.
  9. I read the developer's response on the offcial MC forum which was that he might/would update Optifine for 1.7.10 (and maybe 1.6.4 too) when he is done with Optifine for 1.8.(1).
  10. [Solved] Side ways beams?

Place down two vertical beams less than 5 blocks apart and hit the side of one vertical beam to place the connecting horizontal beam.
  11. [x32][0.78][0.79.17 83%] SummerFields

    Thanks for the update!
  12. Trenix's Farewell

Aww bummer this had to happen. In academia, this can happen too when too much is expected of a collaboration. I share my work with others who in turn ignore it. But meh, in the end i did it for myself and not only to please others. Anyway, suggestions can be rejected and it's normal. The manner of rejection depends on the person and mood. If you take your ideas to heart, best to execute them yourself.
  13. Tracking Skill

How would one procedurally generate animal footprints or other clues that lead to the animal in question? I do like the idea of timid animals that are "harder" to catch. But as of right now everything still looks and feels a lot like vanilla minecraft mob behaviour.
  14. Maps and Cartography Skill

Uhm... unless i am mistaken, you can craft minecraft maps in TFC using wrought iron ingots, redstone and paper and the like.
  15. House in the mountain

SEED: 4652869524421692828 Not sure what i'm going for yet but may be dwarven-inspired. A BIG vault with ores deep under the mountain is planned, as well as a beacon on top of the mountain (the mountain is 240 blocks high).
  16. Disabling Grain Decay

My playstyle is kinda cheaty. I store all my food at block height where temps are coldest year round.... Anyway, disabling grain decay is not on my wishlist. In the future also grains can be preserved longer so just hold on to your horses.
  17. I wish to ask again, is it possible to remove the snow accumulation limit? In b79 we can now collect snow balls with a shovel and convert them into blocks and hence layers. However, i cannot stack layers in most places (it varies). This probably has to do with the limit on the number of snow layers per block when it snows. If someone with the technical know-how could direct me how to remove this limit, that would be great! I'm not necessarily asking to have the limit removed in the mod for everybody.
  18. Remove snow accumulation limit

Thank you!!! I cannot thank you enough (and lipki and Kitty) for spending precious time into this. That description confirms my observations too although i could not have interpreted behaviour this way. Actually, i was going to refer to a minecraft mod called Snowfall. That one works in vanilla mc but would not have solved the problem here.
  19. Remove snow accumulation limit

Righto. Well... if it's not in the code then i have nothing else to say ;/ You may close this thread.
  20. Remove snow accumulation limit

So basically what is going on in the current version of TFC? That can only mean that the rate of melting > rate of accumulation. As soon as 2 layers of snow accumulate, it doesn't take very long to go back to 1 layer aye? This artificial melting when temperature is below freezing and light levels are low is what bothers me since the start of this thread. Sounds like such an easy thing to tweak, but i get it if the devs are not interested.
  21. Remove snow accumulation limit

Lipki, you're amazing mate. However, I'm not sure what i can do with that or how to interpret such code. I'm not a programmer. What is the current set height for instance? In vanilla MC, snow layers can only accumulate up to a full block, no more layers stack above that. Basically, what I wish is the rate of accumulation > rate of disappearance than what it's currently set at. Of course, this way the snow may eventually accumulate to the set height everywhere, but that's ok. I simply wish the rate of accumulation were increased such that we get more than 2 layers of snow.
  22. Remove snow accumulation limit

I don't understand what's going on with the snow if no code limits snow accumulation because it clearly does not accumulate. Anyway, thanks I guess... i wont bring this up again.
  23. [x32][0.78][0.79.17 83%] SummerFields

The food prep GUI is unfortunately broken after the latest TFC update.
  24. Remove snow accumulation limit

I'm still hopeful, will a dev look into the snow issue? If absolutely nothing will be done about the snow accumulation limit and/or fixing the bug related to snow blocks and layers as decoration instead, I would much rather know that than hope in vain.
  25. [0.79.?] Fix Shaders for Terrafirmacraft Water

You need to install the mod Not Enough Items.
